Players You Think Are Lucky To Make A Living From Football

For me it's no 3 keepers like Richard wright. No chance of ever playing so just being used to warm up the other keepers etc....

Almost like the fluff girl in a porn film....never goin to be the main star but good at warming the boys up....

My mates brother was a A team player at City,he turned out for our team one Sunday,he took himself off at half time as it was getting embarrassing for the other team.
He later ended up at Blackpool, but to say he was head and shoulders above anything out there was a massive understatement.
Apart from that chancer who got a game under Souness at Southampton,no one could blag there way to a career at a professional club.
Unless you're a Portugese tramp and were made a multi million buy from obscurity,by a knight of the realm to obtain a massive bung, but that's like a fairy story and could never be true.

watching blue dippers yesterday and everytime I see Steven Peinaar play football I think how on earth have you become a professional footballer let alone at the highest level,he runs like phoebe off friends ,cant tackle ,his touch is awful, basically he is fookin shite.I know its all about opinions but which footballer do you think the same about

Peinaar was easily one of the best players on the pitch yesterday.

If he is the best example you can come up with to illustrate your point there is very little hope for you.

clearly not a lot of hope for you as you couldn't have even watched the game if that was your thought,he is the one that plays for Everton, was you watching an Nfl game

Pienaar I would disagree with. I think he is a good player. The likes of McShane, Bramble, Dunne etc are a surprise. Certainly that they played at the level they did.

Dunne? Jesus wept.
I know it's all about opinions but seriously, that's pathetic.
He was one of the top defenders in the league, for us, ffs. Just wasn't doing it at a fashionable club.

Cattermole.
Cattermole is actually not a bad player when he's not kicking someone. He had a tremendous game against us a few seasons ago.

Bramble definitely. Djimi Traore was another. Jozy Altidore is completely useless as is Bendtner. Amdy Faye was another I could never see the point of.

Just wondering if the op has played football at any decent level? Highest I got was the lancs and Cheshire league which is fuck knows how many levels down the pyramid, but it's a fucking lot!!!
Anyway, about 4 years ago we had Gareth Whalley (played for crewe then Bradford in the prem) play for us in a title decider. He came on as a sub and his talent shone like you can't believe, and he was 37 then. To even play for teams in the northern premier you have to be a hell of a player, never mind the premier league.

So, not one single player in the any of the top four divisions, and probably a good few leagues below, can blag it. It just isn't possible!!! You have to have considerable talent or you'd be found out immediately.

As an aside to the above point, in the changing rooms after the afore mentioned game (which we won, beating Whalley range) I asked Gaz Whalley who the best player he ever played against was. He thought for a second before replying, "Patrick Veirra at Highbury was pretty good". How fucking awesome it must be to be able to say that sentence.

Bang on that mate. I used to play with a lad at Sunday league level, was absolute class, everyone thought he was far too good to be playing for us despite being one of the best teams in the league and we were in division 1, but he never got scouted or anything. Honestly believed he deserved to be at a much higher level. Was a top lad as well. All the lads were chatting about his brother as well, apparently he was just as good if not better, had a kick about with a few of the lads once and he was there, he was even better, honestly one of the best players I've played with. Guess who it turns out to be? None other than our very own George Evans. Hope he breaks through into our first team one day.

Don't agree he is top notch for me wat u smokin bud??

Not lucky to make a living but for staying at a club near the top for so long whilst being so one dimensional and easy to mark out of a game...

Jermaine Defoe

Contributes nothing bar poaching goals against already beaten teams or those with severe defensive issues.
Not exactly a man to look towards regarding leading the charge so to speak or when the chips are down.
