Players You Think Would Make Good Managers

Many of the best managers had crap or non-existent playing careers.
Mourinho, Wenger, Baconface.
By that logic, I predict Glauber Berti, Barry Conlon and Laurent Charvet to be the top coaches of the next 20 years

The most succesfull players don't always become the succesfull managers.....

Although Vieira has done everything maybe he has no need to be a manager?

Anyway in the City Squad:

Wayne Bridge
Gareth Barry
James Milner
Kolo Toure

Vieira, Kompany, Barry and Kolo (from our current squad)

Scholes (think he will walk away from football), Giggs and Rio.

Terry, Lampard

It's a very hard question because even if someone is an inspirational captain and a leader on the pitch, it doesn't mean he knows anything at all about tactics.

Brian Clough said once that he cringed sometimes watching things like match of the day because the pundits - ex players - who were cast as experts actually knew nothing about actual tactics and to hear them talk about tactics left him irritated.
I cant remember who he stopped after saying "the manager got his tactics wrong today" and replied "the manager got his tactics right, it was the bloody players who let him down!".

Alan Hansen knows nothing about tactics, he actually doesn't go into anymore detail than how the back four wasn't in a straight line. Whereas Lee Dixon is actually pretty good.

But I don't know any footballers enough to know how tactically aware they are.

Rio Ferdinand?! God help whatever club appoints him.

I reckon Zab would be a decent manager.
