The Blue Buus... is callin us... Driver, where you
Yes, we know about the 'big news' and the slapped faces of mates and colleagues around us about Big G coming in, yet I'm more interested in whether this will galvanise the players for the rest of the season or will some throw in the towel?

It's a big thing to have [arguably] the current greatest manager in the world run the rule over you and find you wanting.

I think this will ultimately make or break players.

Am I alone in thinking this...?

The players have apparently known for a month, and their form has improved over that time. I can't see this news impacting them in any significant way. People overstate the significance of this. Players are used to managers coming and going.

Yes. The whole staff clearly knew what was happening too, but have kept their counsel and that reflects well them and shows how professional the place is. It wont make any difference as they have played all season knowing exactly this. There will be changes, but there would be anyway

Their form has definitely improved. Funnily enough Pellegrini has been much better tactically too.
Wonder what he will make of Bernard sitting at the front of the bus and chappy jumping out of the kit basket with a big grin on his face.

Easy now bigga (:

It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.....

Will be an interesting 4 months, your usual suspects will come to the party, however, don't be shocked to a see a mass improvement from the fringe...

Whilst I agree in one respect, I disagree on another.

Yes, the players have known and yes, players are used to managers coming and going.

But, do you REALLY believe they are just reacting like he's some Joe Schmo coming to manage them? I don't and I think there will be a real fear for any player not playing their optimum. There won't be a favourite player, where they play regardless.

No.

Nobody will be safe unless they leave it out there on the pitch and I think this is what will drive the team in the next few months.

I bet Mr Nasri will hit the ground running, when he's fit. Or will he be another Haley Mills/Nigel Clough/Wayne Bridge wage thief

I think confirming this to the players and the fans is the right move. It seemed likely, but no one likes uncertainty, regardless of the size of the pay packet. They now know who's coming and what he'll expect from them - take the piss and you won't be here in August to prove yourself.

A few many already know their number's up (Yaya) so it'll be interesting to see their attitiude, but I can see the likes of Zaba stepping up another gear to prove he could still do the job - I wouldn't want to be a left winger for the next few months. Or left back.

And if you're in the EDS, what a chance!

Yes, Zin Zimmer!!

Accurate; but who, besides Silva, Aguero and De Bruyne from the main players, are adaptable...?

Big question marks still on player fitness, however, komps, zab, nasri,, dinho, hart, sterling (will be a beast under him), Nacho, Ota... For me Pep is made from the same mold as the pisscan, he'll make the average-good, the good-excellent and the excellent-world class...

Special mention is for the mang, he'll make him the daddy imo!!!!

One of the main reasons I wanted the club to make this announcement. Also, those players who like the manager will want to send him out on a high and will be hugely motivated to do this, and those who don't will realise that they have a new manager to impress who will be watching. This will unite the squad and get everybody pulling in the same direction. Could be a special end to the season.

The tea lady had better watch her back.

Does Pep even drink tea ?
Manuel was the epitome of tea drinking managers and just look at where it got him.
Go on go on go on go on go on go on go on.. and win us that treble

Just heard a German commentator on BBC Radio 5 and he said that Pep had made 'every player a better player at Bayern'. Our players are going to want to be at City whilst he is there as they will want to become better players. Happy days!

Well lets hope a few improve their performance levels this could still be a special season. I don't think Hart, Kompany and Toure will be managing the club by committee come the summer though as they have got away with over the last few years.

I would have thought the midfielders have the most to fear (Toure, Delph, Fernando and Fernandinho) in the most basic terms you have to be able run under Pep....

Can't see Bony being ecstatic either then!
