Zab is NOT the answer, people are too quick to geton micah's back, ok, so he cost us aganst utd, but hepretty much won us the game against arsenal. Just a better overall footballer compared to Zab

So you're not being too quick to get on Zabs' back then? Oh, the irony. Zab is a much better defender first and foremost and that's what we need. Not a "defender" who bombs forward and saunters back at his own pace leaving acres of space in the process. A bit of time on the bench is what Micah needs and deserves.

I worry for the sanity of anyone who can't see Micah Richards has been below par for some time. I suggest you find highlights of last Sunday and watch again.

In my opinion Micah's had no more than two or three good games since Hughes has been at the club. As a City player he'll continue to get my support, but we shouldn't be blinkered about these things.

Not been good enough for some time, and in my opinion needs a real kick up the arse.

Zab played decent last night. Considering its his first start of the season, he did good.

He got forward, put in some good crosses (take not Micah), and more importantly was solid in defence. If Zab lost the ball, he worked his bollocks off to get back. Micah normally just strolls back

Zab is the far better player for us at the moment

On the evidence of yesterday & his appearance at Pompey, Zab is a much better defender than Micah.
Micah is defiantely quicker, but positioning is awful & ends up giving away too many free kicks.
Zab looked solid, assured & got forward a lot. And he can cross a ball.
Just hope Hughes keeps him in the team.

Have to agree with this. I don't like slagging off our players, but fair criticism is a different thing. For whatever reason Micah has been under-performing for some time. What was perhaps more worrying on Sunday was his contribution to the opening Rag goal, on the grounds that he seemed to have stopped and be engaged in a eye-rolling complaint to the heavens rather than watching what was happening.

I think that Zabaleta can make errors (can't anyone?) and can, in his enthusiasm, give away free kicks etc, but I was pleased to see him in the team last night.
