Please tell the truth about Manchester

It seems to me that people move away and never go back though. My dad attempted to go back after 15 years away and couldnt do it. I love the place but then i only come up for weekends so i have no idea what living there is like

To be honest though after spending my whole life living down south i know one thing about Manchester, its cold i mean sometimes it takes my breath away when the wind gets up

Detroit's full of gangsta rappers, Chicago is full of mobsters, Ny is full of pimps, ho's and serial killers AND and the deep south is full of gun toting sodomisers or inbred mutants that will torture you before making a nice burger out of you whilst wearing your skin as an housecoat. Though ive never experienced the States myself ive seen enough movies to know this is FACT

I love the sweeping generalisation! Quite an accurate discription though!

Manchester is alot more diverse than many people will give it credit for. Large Student, Ethnic and Gay communities in the City. Generally something for everyone. If I want to go watch Football or live Music then I can. If I want to shop then I can. If I want a good Curry then I can. If I want to be hassled for spare change by a filthy Scrote stamping down the street with his hands plunged down the front of his trackie bottoms then I can.

It's an efficient place to get around, too. If you're in the City Centre then you can get to where you want to go with relative ease.

What makes any place is the people.
Maybe the dislikers should get out a bit more.
I for one love it and miss it always.
I'll return when my children have flown the nest,
with or without my Wife.

Hey Mo, I lived in Co. Kerry for 13 years. People who think it rains in Manchester should spend 6 months on the west coast of Ireland. but in Ireland there's a different mentality and people say that the country is lovely and green because of the rain and that a sunny day is a bonus.

With regards to nice areas and grotty areas, these multi-millionaire footballers will rarely see the poorer areas and retreat to their Cheshire set pads. As someone previously posted it's all about having your friends and family around you and what you are used to when you were growing up. If you are moving to a new country you have to either embrace the culture of the area or have your family and friends around.

Are you being serious or are you a RWUM!! If you have never been to Manchester how can you judge it. We have a lot going for us apart from the occasional rain shower.

Get a grip and visit the City before you come out with any more sh1t!

Think its you who needs to get a grip.
You obviously don`t read the press or all these threads.
Defo TIC by OP !!

Personally I think its a shithole and if it wasn't for the fact my job is based in Manchester I'd be gone like a shot.
