plex

Does anyone know how to install this thing correctly? I have a relatively new pc, downloaded the software but when I "launch" it nothing happens.

An Icon appears on the toolbar but then disappears if you go on it.

well ive never heard of it but I just installed it.
download software
install
it then asks you to create an free account
then goes through a wizard asking you to name your server
then adding media from your pc
done
if you right click icon near toolbar theres lots of options

I presume you then download the appropriate plex app for smartfone/tv/firestick etc and connect from there

I'm looking at this too, going to have a media server in my man-cave, with plex sharing the media to the various devices around the house.

Its a fork of kodi from back in the xbmc days, yous set up the server, tell where your media is stored music moves etc, then install Plex clients on other devices to view the media.

Also worh looking at some of the paid Plex servers ;-)

Silly question perhaps but when you say it disappeared from the toolbar (do you mean taskbar?) did you check the hidden icons bit?

From what I seen you need the server software installed on your PC and the apps on whatever devices you wish to connect to:

Did you install the server software or the app by mistake?

Sorted! Had a virus that was preventing me from installing anything. Cheers tho!

been using a paid for plex service a while (Just VOD, i'm fussy when Kodi doesn't cut the mustard).

I have it on firesticks and xbones and it works tip top most of the time.

If anyone wants a modified version to get round the android 2 mins play without paying give us a shout
