A player rarely injured is worth 10 of those who can't finish a game.

Been watching long enough to know when a player just isn't worth it anymore, and recognise one who is worth retaining.

There are half a dozen who would be out the door before Bernardo for me.

We can't get rid of everyone at once.

Apart from Chelsea at home, I can’t think of another good game he’s had all season.

When a player is having a negative impact against Plymouth then he’s pretty much finished.

Look at what he used to do, whenever he got the ball his head was up and he’d be running at a player. Now he’s getting the ball and holding onto it for far too long, that’s because he knows he’s not got the legs he once had.

The difference in our speed of play between midweek and yesterday was night and day. That’s just not because of the physical speed of the players but the speed in which we moved the ball, something which Bernardo does too slow these days.

I thought that too. Bigging up Villa and other sides and quite negative about a City side that won with a 2nd XI. Can you imagine the hysteria had a young Man Utd player scored 2 goals.

Was impressed how Reis headed the ball to one of our players most of the time, not just up the pitch.
I think him, Dias and AK45 will be a great combo but Reis clearly needs to fatten up for the PL.

Cant wait for the new stand to open as hate being moved from our best singing section to give a load of one game a season gobshites chance to sing the usual songlist slagging us off.

As a side note I saw the lad who scored for them playing for LASK in Austria before the City game in Bratislava and said at the time he looked a good player.

Ogbeta their left back was also on Citys books.

Plymouth should stay up and despite the wanky day trippers in their support yest I hope they do.

Overall poor, we needed two set pieces to break through second from bottom of the championship. It shows that we no pace or zero direct players on the pitch that yet again, if a team as poor as Plymouth can contain us pretty easily. The slow, boring build up days are gone and Pep needs to wise up to it. Glad KDB got his goal but it is a hard watch him struggling against that level.Into the next round though, no CL to stop us playing our full strength the rest of this comp now, we chucked a load of semis in the past with having a difficult CL tie cropping up

Your comment about slow, boring build-up days is I hope from the media who have started with that argument. City'd build-up was not slow and boring when David Silva and Yaya were playing. Savinho, Doku and Haaland were rested.

Did they beat Liverpool?

Yes they beat Liverpool who had arguably two players from a their possible starting 11. They was also at home. We had Bernardo, Grealish, KDB, Foden, Gundog, Ake, Rico etc all players with many first team minutes under their belt. Whilst arguably more of a second string side yesterday, it was not comparable to Liverpool playing the likes of Nyoni, Mcconnell, Quansah and such like players. Put it this way, we had 5 players on the pitch yesterday we played against Madrid at home. Congrats though, you have shown a severe lack of footballing intellegence with that comment. Us looking shit yesterday is completley and utterly irrelevant to them beating Livepool at home. Just a couple of week ago they went to Blackburn and lost 2-0 why is that not the example? Why is the measure not their season as a whole fighting for their lives to stay in the second tier of English football?

KDB scored the 3rd goal and assisted the first goal. Clearly he's past his best but he was a big part of our win today as was Bernardo who I felt played well

If you think Bernardo played well I’ve a bridge I’d like to sell you.

He was woeful especially in the first half, looked totally disinterested, just launched a couple of balls forward to no one and backed out of a couple of tackles.

As for the 3 of them mentioned. They don’t have the legs anymore, we can play one with runners off them but all 3 slows the game down considerably, when you add Grealish to them and him just drifting inside it adds to the congestion and slows us down more.

Like to add the Reiss looks extremely good, his weight of pass is exceptional and him and Khusanov look like 2 quality additions.

Well if that is the case then I was ahead of the curve when complaining about it last year and then early this season whilst we was still top of the league. If you are still winning then style isn't overly relevant but when we perform like this season then it comes into question. Don't belittle my opinion thinking I am swayed by the media, I pay and watch City every week and form my own opinion. Our build up has bored me for a while, even when winning. I know why we was slow and boring yesterday, my point was how that approach can barely work against a shite side trying to stay up in the league below. Football evolves and we need to evolve with it. With the faster direct wingers I no doubt believe that is the direction we are going in

I thought they were really good for spells of the first half. So much more energy than our geriatrics and they ended up with so much space. But in the end they didn't have anywhere near enough quality to capitalise on that.

Looked like a really well drilled side.

Outside of the two goals from Nico, there really wasn't much to get excited about from a City perspective.

Interesting game, if nothing else.
