It's very worrying another thread becoming about Pige, when it could and should be about me.

the world doesnt revolve around you, ya know!
Sorry, but it does. Everyone thinks The Sun is the centre of the universe but I can attest that GDM is bigger, brighter, warmer and has a greater gravitational pull :))

Anyone who disagrees probably believes the earth is flat.

Yaya and Nasri ran the show in the second half. It looked on TV like Yaya was pushed further forward and Nasri moved inside, with Fernandinho sat behind them.

It is impossible on TV to see the position of players who are not on the ball, so can anyone who was at the game shed any light on our shape in the second half? Particularly Aguero, did he drift out to left? If so it could be the beginning of a transition to us playing 433.

Anyone else notice Nasri and Navas being on the same side a lot with only Kolarov down the left flank? I was a little confused by that to be honest or was it more of Nasri just drifting inside while Navas was still hugging the right side of the field?

That's a bit more like it.

Kept it nice and tight before unleashing a devastating 2nd half salvo that wrapped the game up. Classic Euro' away stuff.
A lot of the players will have regained some confidence from that performance as well. Granted it wasn't 90 minutes of sparkling footy but they did their jobs and seemed to be surer of what team mates wanted.

The Blues that made the trip also deserve a mention for the great vocal support. The rousing rendition of, 'It should have been ten' had me and the dog joining in from the comfort of our kitchen.

I'd still like to see us get a tighter on the left when defending, but tonights showing has left me feeling a bit more confident about Sundays derby.

Loved Vinnys post match interview. When asked how he felt, he responded he feels great with a big smile. Definitely put a big smile on my face.

Disappointed that's the first Euro away I've missed since Napoli but pleased with performance and win.

Fair play to the travelling fans too. Could hear them through most of the match. Hope they've had a great night all round.

Good win, we were slow in the first half but really hit our straps in the second.

Vinny makes a huge difference.
Nasri was immense.
Fernandinho found his groove.

My only negative is that Kolarov was absolute puss.

No he wasn't he was great. In fact every single player on that pitch tonight/last night was 200% better than the ones at Stoke on Saturday. I couldn't believe I was watching the same team.

I take back what I said about one player missing shouldn't make that much difference. As I kept telling everyone around me at the match tonight, "3 minutes, 3 minutes he was on the pitch Vincent Kompany and we scored"!!

I arrived home about half an hour ago and am still buzzing. Too much so to go to bed yet!! I've hardly any voice left, 95% of the songs we sang were great and the players appeared to appreciate them. I know Zaba did as they lined up for the second half and we were singing his song he waved to us. At the end of the match every single player came over and applauded us and Vincent even bowed with arms outstretched to us!!

If someone else has mentioned it I apologise but not read all 29 pages. The atmosphere was bouncing, the singing was awesome, (95% of the time. I'm sorry but I do not like the song about Ferguson and Moyes it makes me feel physically sick!! JMHO) the Kompany song was loud and proud, the Negredo, Aguerro chant amazing.

Well done the Elite 600!! (That was what one of our number had on the back of his new shirt)

Great result.

Plzen are fucking wank and everyone will take 6 points off them.

Great start for us. It'll be out of us and CSKA for 2nd place. We are now +3 points and +6 goal difference better than them.

Sweet.

Doesn't it go on the head to head, not goal diff ?

Couldn't agree more. On my television, it sounded like we sang 'em right out of the park, especially after the goals started going in.

Yes, we were supposed to beat this side and we did. This is more than you could say for last year's performance in the CL, so I'll take it as a positive and move on to Sunday and the Rags.

Also, I think that once Navas really and truly beds in, it will be clear why he was bought as he's already showing some serious flashes of class. Same for Fernandinho in a very different way.

For me, this year so far is made up of two great, fluid matches on the edges (Plzen and Toon Army) with some serious growing pains in between. Despite those lackluster matches, we have won our first CL game and the EPL table shows us above Rags and Chelski with first place just three points above us. All in all, I'd say not a disastrous start by any means!

Anyway, I'm rambling. Back to where this started. HUGE ROUND OF APPLAUSE for those of you who made the trip and represented the club with such passion. LOVED IT!
