Pogba Alternatives?

Give me a league there haven't been flops from? Italy? Portugal? Germany? Russia? Maybe Spain? There have been plenty of flops from EVERY league. The Dutch are just generally cheaper, so their flops don't hurt as much. And they've brought some of the best players to grace this league too. So it's not as if they produce at any worse a rate than any other league. Yet they are cheaper. Far cheaper!

We have money. You're point would make sense if we were scraping the barrel. FFP doesn't have such a big impact on City these days that we decide to shape our transfer policy around the thinking "if they flop at least they were cheap".

No player is ever signed with that in mind. It's so negative to even think about "what if they flop". We should be buying players that will improve our side, players with real quality.

Wilshere (say him as there has been apparent interest) - which I know is not an overly popular suggestion on here.

He's young and English, which tick two important boxes! He will fit into our passing game, knows the premiership, and adds a bit of energy and tenacity that we are missing.

Injuries, are of course a worry. But if he can overcome that, then I think he would be a fantastic signing.

Never in a million years will Arsenal sell him to us..

Agree with this also like to add barkley, witsel, pastore, eriksen, hamsik, koke
there's enough out there! To be honest I'd love to see eriksen in our midfield!

It is unlikely. But according to a few on here (Danamy I think) we were very much interested.

They are a club who thinks about their accounts. If we put in a reasonable bid, I do think they would consider it - despite the fact that they probably wouldn't actually want to sell to us.

Verrati and Koke would be the dream but I don't think PSG would sell or Koke would leave.

Realistically my list would go (in no particular order):
Matuidi
Witsel
Moutinho
Ramsey
Wilshere
Aranguiz
Bender
Naingolan
Xhaka
Parejo

Khedira/Vidal/Schneiderlin would have been great for us but oh well.

Tielemans would be the one I'd go for if we can't get Pogba. He's young, strong and very clever on the ball. Has a great range of passing and an intelligence to find a bit of space in midfield. He'll always try and get forward with the ball rather than just pass sideways.

Wilshere is a good player, but he's not improved much since he burst onto the scene and his injuries are a real concern.

I'd like to know one way or another where things are with Pogba. It sounds very much as though the price has escalated ridiculously from what we first had been quoted.
