In 2012, fifty years later, the reformed Accrington Stanley were duly elected to the league after a long climb through the non-league tiers. The team relegated to make way?.....Why Oxford United.

Accrington Stanley were not founders of the league. That was Accrington Town who went bust and were replaced by Stanley.
