The monsters are already in the pubs you just need at least 8 pokehops to get one

Im Level 17 now and finally got my first pokemon over a 1000cp :)

Same. a Hypno (obviously) and a Vaporeon. Had a sweet Venonat i has hoping would end up as a high Venomoth too but that came out at below 800. Been royally screwed by my 10k eggs so far, had my latest one hatch today and got a bloody Jynx! Had 2 glitch out on me and lose them completely and the other was a crappy Onix with barely 100 cp.

Dunno if the reality of this game is dawning on me. Had a go on the old Pokemon Blue yesterday and the mechanics of it are far superior to what Pokemon Go currently offers to the point it makes you take a step back and think it's actually a pretty bad game.

There's no reason to train a single Pokemon now because you'll just see the same one with a higher CP as you level up therefore removing that whole attachment building a squad you've trained through thick and thin. The actual battles are pretty wank with too much resting on how the servers are holding up plus it desperately needs PVP which I would assume will likely be its first major update.

Even catching the Pokemon is neutered, there's no having to weaken them, put them to sleep etc Or have that butt clenching moment where you're reducing a pokemons health to increase the chances of catching it but risk getting a critical hit and just killing the poor Pokemon!

The fun of this game is in the collecting and the "adventure" of going to find them. Which admittedly does give you good reason to go out and about seeing things you mightn't before. But at the end of the day a core mechanic of the Pokemon games is the battling and if that's a bit rubbish then what's the point of collecting them in the first place?

Agreed. the "game" itself is trash, the success of the app is entirely based on the collecting,

Has anyone persevered? I've levelled up to 21, but not sure if I'll go much further, as it is becoming a bit repetitive and boring. I quite like collecting new Pokemon. I got Pikachu and Charmander from eggs today. My son tells me Wythenshawe Park breeds Pikachu.

My youngest son chose yellow team, so my eldest and I followed. A bad choice I think as most choose red or blue, possibly due to football allegiances. So we can never hold a gym for very long.

Highest CP is Hypno, with 1369. I've not got many rare Pokemen, but off to Scotland in a week so I suppose there will be some sea based creatures to be collected.

I confess to feeling a bit odd, loading up from Pokestop to Pokestop in Warrington, but there are tons of youngsters all walking around laying lures and chasing Pidgeys, Rattatas and Weedles. And how many Drowsees have been released into the wild recently?
