One played his entire career for the best team wherever he played in a one or two team league
One played for a disruptor and helped make them the dominant force
And literally reinvented the midfield position in a nation where aggression and physicality was allowed, a nation that thought he was too small to be a winger let alone an 8
Of course Messi was a better forward

It’s close, closer than I ever expected it to be.
But for me he was consistently our best ever player.
Not only our best but for me the premier leagues best midfielder.
He ran games.
