Police investigate headbutt in Old Firm Womens match

I mean, I don’t want to labour the point. But I’m assuming you must have seen the video?

Are you seriously suggesting that the police would arrest a man if they saw someone doing that in the street?

I’ve no idea where you’re from mate but it must be a beautifully idyllic little place.
If the cops saw that in the street they might arrest him for public order offences as it sparked a confrontation. The real test is asking how many footballers have been arrested for a headbutt, the answer is none.

Some of the assaults we see on football pitches up and down the country could easily have been prosectuted as ABH. Keane on Haaland springs to mind. That was premeditated, and caused a career ending injury. If that had been 2am on a Sunday morning outside Royals, and there had been multiple coppers present, with high quality CCTV footage, Keane would almost certainly have served jail time.

No point me keep saying that I disagree. It obviously depends on the situation and the individual police at the scene. All I can say is I’ve seen a lot, lot worse, where the police have been happy to split things up and send people on their separate ways.

Other than Duncan Ferguson, who got sent down for it.

Yes he was the 3xception to the rule but the level of violence used by Ferguson was far more than this head nudge.
If the cops get involved with this one I expect them to get involved every time there is a punch, push, nudge.

Duncan Ferguson was sent to jail for headbutting a player who was the brother of a Celtic player. The only reason he was sent to jail was because of the Celtic connection.

Mainly because he was a bawbag at Dundee Utd and had various run ins with the law before that headbutting incident when playing with Rangers.
He got sent down because he was a ‘ bawbag ‘.
So why isn’t half the Scottish population in jail then ?
