police with city fans yesterday...

I am more than old enough to remember this happening but can't remember seeing this on the news or in the papers. Wonder why, guess coppers getting tuned in just doesn't make good tv does it?
I've been lucky enough never to get involved in something as bad as that but believe me, things like it happen every day but the public never hear about it.
I've read this site for a while now and may not have as many posts as some of you but this board has made me both laugh out loud and feel genuinely upset at some of the great comments by my fellow blues.
This footage however, has made me realise that this site is probably not the one for me.
So farewell Bluemoon, and to the Mods. Don't let your great site turn into something like the ones belonging to other so called great clubs we all used to laugh at.
To those of you lucky enough to remember the dark days of being stood on rain soaked away terraces, football specials and travelling hundreds of miles sat on an upturned milk crate in the back of a Ford Transit, enjoy.
To the new breed, take care peeps and enjoy the ride.

I don't blame you, as a policeman, taking exception to the scum on this site taking pleasure at their kind of people beating up policemen and women. Some of the comments on this topic have to be against the terms and conditions of the board, and the people concerned should be banned.

It's a shame to see you go, there are other City sites out there where this sort of stuff wouldn't be tolerated and the scrotes would be booted off.

For my sins, as disgusted as I am, I'll stay simply because this kind of stuff shoudn't go unchallenged. And for most of the time, the site's a laugh - pity it's sometimes spoilt by the few.

Apart from the person who posted that clip, has anyone on here said anything positive about it? I can't see anyone but Scottyboi condoning hitting the police to be honest although I can see plenty of people in this thread saying it is ok for the police to hit members of the public.

I worded it as I did in the general sense to avoid directly asking for scottyboi to be banned. Whether that was right is a moot point. I have no issues with the views expressed by yourself and the eloquent way in which you put them and as bluetel himself accepted earlier, the police don't always get it right by any means, in what I'm sure most of us would accept is a very difficult job. But scottyboi went way over the line - I don't think for one moment his views were put forward in jest and the valid points you put are not helped by unwelcome association.

Anyway let's hope there's no trouble tomorrow, both sets of fans can mingle together in perfect harmony and there are no need for any police interventions. If only!

I agrree that posting about the dibble getting kicked in is over the top.
But maybe if they handle the situation better then the way they did at CoMs and the swamp then people will stop giving them a hard time?
I've been to all three derbies this season and quite frankly the policing of both league cup games was shambolic.
When the chief constable came on the tv the morning after the swamp game to congratulate himself on a job well done I nearly spat my brew all over the screen.

I remember being kept behind after the game, played a load of antagonistic silly songs then being marshalled towards the "ring of steel," told in no uncertain terms I couldn't go to the toilet after the game-when I asked why I was told to "keep moving and shut up."
I'm no idiot or thug-I have a responsible job and was questioning a public servant as to why I was being prevented from using a service I had paid to use.
I don't expect the reply to be "shut up" and the dark implications of what happens afterwards if you don't.

Then they threw us out into the oncoming rag hordes-"ring of steel" my arse!
They left us to battle towards the entrance to the coach park, and naturally it got a bit tense. As I got to the gate a policewoman on horseback blocking the entrance to the parking area screamed "that way" and tried to send me into the rag crowd-I told her "I'm trying to get to my coach" and she wouldn't have it.
I ended up having to go round the back of the horse and risk it booting me to get past.Meanwhile,I could see she was losing the plot and others were having the same problem.
I won't even bother going into how the coaches were then stuck outside the swamp for 45 minutes as sitting ducks, with no cops to be seen......it was a joke.

Add to that the way they handled the game at Coms, letting the MIB out at the same time as the City fans to give them a chance to have a go at kids and old men-laughable.

Now of course, the onus of "responsibility" has been moved onto the players.
It's easier to blame them when it goes off than to sort the nobheads out and remove them.

I understand what you're saying mate and agree as I've been on the receiving end of screaming policewomen on horseback (in my dreams too lol) and also a policeman who tried to run me over on a horse just for asking him why he was being so aggressive.

They are trained to be like this maybe? and I suppose in the heat of the moment they feel out of control at times as some nobs do tend to want some aggro and spoil it for everyone else.

It isnt easy to pick out the good ones always I suppose and so they treat everyone like a risk fan. With our past reputation I suppose they think we are trouble.

They do seem to treat Man u differently though. Like when they were attacking coaches at the swamp.
