Political relations between UK-EU

Yet another one.
What problems is Dover happening, as we speak, or last night, and what's going to affect it a week on Tuesday?

Yet another what?

I agree with the sentiments around project fear. I’m not a fan of people like who run Guido though who combat it with disingenuous statements themselves.

Fuck knows what’s going to happen in Dover in a week or a month. Whatever does though, I’m sure people on the extremes of the debate will still be posting misleading bollocks about it.

There is nothing misleading about whatever, or whoever, it was in that video
said. The bullshit, claptrap and scaremongering about this major port has proved to be exactly that, movement of goods are at about 90% of average, and we're in a pandemic.
Another prediction, supported and bolstered for about a couple of weeks
will no doubt pop up, so it's great for shits and giggles.

You’ve just said the misleading bit yourself though! Movement of goods aren’t at 90%, the port of Dover haven’t said that and nor have the government. Movement of freight is at 90% at Dover (it’s higher than that if you include all UK ports), we don’t know what movement of goods is like. The government themselves have said there’s been an increase in the amount of empty vehicles going outbound so we know there’s been some impact, just not how much.

We also have no idea yet how much is down to Covid and how much is down to anything else.

Erm, this is someone who appeared on infowars. I'm not surprised you are a fan.

what he is reporting on is the number of truck movements to and fro - even the govt speculates that 75% of those returning are going back empty. So we are importing loads exporting little. I thought Brexit was going to fix the trade imbalance with the EU not increase it?

That gets addressed in April when we start doing full customs checks on imports, which should reduce them significantly to match the reduction in exports.

The principle issue is perceived friction, which I assume you know.
There is none, and there will be none, for the reasons long claimed on here.

Chippy? Chippy? I'll give you chippy...

Wild smoked salmon with cream cheese and dill on blinis
followed by:
Pan fried Scallops in butter on a black pudding nest with pea puree.

;-)
Excellent. I had a baked whole Dover Sole with herb butter on Saturday.Seafood pancakes (queen scallops, prawns and Salmon) for starter. Our local wholesalers now does delivery and we are trying our best to support local businesses.

It’s irrelevant to my point though, all I’m saying is it’s a misleading statement (well, it’s incorrect but I’m ok with just saying misleading!).

On that issue of friction, you can’t draw the conclusions you are already, no one can until the autumn at least. I certainly hope that your prediction is correct though.
