Political relations between UK-EU

Yep 51% of the voting electorate in 2016 voted to leave and we left on 31 Jan 2020. How many of them do you think are happy with the subsequent implementation of the WA and the trade deal? I don’t remember being asked if we wanted importing and exporting to be much more difficult and expensive, whether we wanted to give up our freedom of movement around 27 countries, whether we wanted to split the U.K. into two separate jurisdictions and whether we wanted to spend billions replicating functions that were previously shared with 27 other countries.
We could have left the EU and done our best to minimise the damage but we decided to go all out for 100% separation (apart from NI of course) with its consequent costs and damage to the economy. Instead we’re opening up our market to random countries on the other side of the world with next to no benefit to us.

You're posting like a greater ability to sell cheese to a nation that is 70% lactose intolerant is not a good thing...

So now that we are a wonderfully sovereign state, free from the shackles of those European overlords, it must be a good idea to shop British, support "our own" and show we don't need "them"....

I thought I'd get started on some Christmas presents, always need to start a couple of months ahead...I know of a few things the kids want....but typically have to buy stuff online, we don't always have the greatest range of options in Northern Ireland....

The very first thing I tried to buy, a feckin hat, and I get this message....

Yay.

3 more sites after, I get the same thing....I've only started looking and already I know I'm gonna have to warn the kids I can't even get some things delivered from England.

Isn't it great being British, living in the UK, and unable to buy things in Britain.

Have you tried the City shop?

Can you buy the same things from or via the Republic?

Cmon down, the price is right.

Found it on a Spanish site...just seems a shame that although its in stock in England I physically can't buy it.
Yes, in this instance, it's just a hat...and I managed to get it, but the implications of not being able buy things "locally" is far reaching.
Imagine you in Manchester couldn't buy things a couple of hundred miles away elsewhere in England and had to buy from Europe, thats what we are experiencing here....is that a "benefit" of Brexit?

I'm not a brexshitter so would struggle to name any benefits of Brexit and I don't live in Manchester.

Yeah I can see why it is frustrating and annoying if you live in the part of the world you do and can't get basic items delivered. The way that the situation on your island has been disregarded by our government and our gammons means you owe us no loyalty with your shopping habits though.
