Politicians are incompetent... aren't they?

The biggest Reform shill I’ve ever seen.
I don’t think he is, to be fair. He just thinks the system is shit and that all politicians aren’t trustworthy.

He then hears Farage say that all politicians are shit and he agrees with him on that.

After that, like Farage, there’s no detail in what should happen, just the rhetoric around draining the swamp, without thinking about whether what replaces the swamp is better or worse. (Hint, under Trump and Farage, it’d be infinitely worse, as were seeing in America.)

I think there's a lot of excessive negativity in people's heads these days.

I was sitting in a Holt's pub at 11.00 am yesterday. I'd been out getting groceries and fancied a swift glass.

The other customers were all blokes of a similar age to me. (FOC). They never stopped moaning about this and that. Not that they had anything novel to say. It was like listening to a personification of the Daily Mail.

I thought - fuck me, you're sat here at 11.00 am, supping beer at over £5 a pint. You can't be that hard up, can you? You're not living in a slum either, you're living in Prestwich. North Manchester's answer to Didsbury. It even has a fucking Gale's Bakery!

I look back to how my grandparents used to live, and there's no comparison. But people have got so greedy and entitled that if the government bunged them all an extra 10k a year, they'd still be moaning.

100% this and when added to people not looking out for each other in society anymore, people have become entitled and increasingly insular.

That then kills empathy for others.

Complete and utter crap (no shock there), tells me how selective you are in your reading and understanding of messages that do not conform to your w of thinking and to me devalues an useful contribution ou might wish to make to the thread.

If we had a thread on how to encourage more suitable people to involve themselves in politics, that would be infinitely more useful than one wallowing in the quagmire endlessly.

You’ve just written in another thread that dishonest people don’t trust people as they assume everyone is trying to rip them off.

That certainly rings true in this thread.
really??? fair enough.... I don't think I did write "dishonest people don’t trust people as they assume everyone is trying to rip them off". but if a mis-quote suits your argument fire away.

This is hard work. I have no interest in debating with you, you’ve shown me it’s pointless.

I replied to a poster who wrote himself that in another thread.

I assumed that you’d have read both messages before replying, but that was my error. Mea culpa.

The quotation marks were showing it was a quote, not that you had said it.

Now please bore off and funsponge the shit out of someone else’s day.

Don't like it when people have views contrary to our own do you? May I remind you that it was your good self that initiated this discussion this morning....and I reiterate this is not fun, though glad for you to see you think it is.

You said....
8 pages to establish all politicians are shit and all the same.

Therefore, no type of voting system can put anyone competent in office.

Awesome. What a thread.

I’ve got no problem with other having opposing opinions.

I dislike intellectually dishonest and negative people, to which you meet my criteria for. You may disagree, but I honestly don’t care.

Therefore, I will ask politely, again, for you to stop replying to my posts.

Of course you can ask.... and I will ask the same.

But to call someone dishonest without any evidence other than you don't agree with them, says a lot about you.

People only need to tap on your username and read through your posts. The evidence is there.

This is my final reply to you as no one else is interested in pages of us going tit for tat.

Most politicians are decent people, that do alot of work behind the scenes for there constituents, some visit relatives of victims lost to knife crime etc and visit hospitals to see sick and disabled, many do alot of charity work , they know first hand the problems with society and try their best to get funding for their area - it’s not easy. They get constant abuse, even death threats and crap generalisation like this header.
Not sure I agree with that. I may be a little cynical (ok very cynical) but visiting hospitals, crime victims etc is pure propaganda. I suspect that a significant percentage don't care deeply at all.

The ones who do charity work fall into 2 categories I guess depending how you define charity work. Lending their name to a foundation isn't work it's advertising. Those who get their hands dirty on a regular basis rather than as a photo opportunity, fine, I'll accept your point on those (relatively few?)

Politicians can’t win either way then.

Go and visit people and it’s for their PR; don’t visit and be called heartless and only in it for themselves.

This kind of sums up how politics has got to where it has.

I have said it time and time again, I do not rate todays politicians of either stripe (red or blue) particularly good or inspiring. Because I feel this way and have said that apart from not having a party of substance I genuinely don't think Reform could do any worse, I am by default according to luminaries on here such as @BlueHammer85 I am as a dyed in the wool supporter for Reform as they are for Labour... which is simply not true.

I may well vote for Reform, there is about 14 months to go before the next election but given the recent performances by Labour (Wales) and Torys (UK) we have a pretty shit choice as I see it.

You realise that you've basically just said you're a far right racist? Following on the back of your previous support for shitgibbon, it's not a great look
