Poor Home Attendances

A star name does not fill a stadium. It did not work with Rodney Marsh and it has not worked with Robinho. Looking like we might be competitive enough to win a friggin trophy again at last will fill it.

Have to agree ...... positive results will make all the difference ....... people want to come to watch City at home feeeling that they'll see a City win nine times out of ten , but most of us hardly expect to see it , even against sides who are assumably inferior to ourselves!

As for Rodney Marsh the difference was that he walked into a city side that were looking like they were gonna win the league , indeed some blame his arrival for not finishing top in the end ........ that was a far more balanced , and potent , city side than what we're seein' today ....... and they could hang on to leads!

Even then we weren't filling the stadium and Swales only sanctioned buying him cos Allison told him that he'd fill the ground every week. But yes, buying him damaged the fantastic team spirit that we had till then and meant that someone who didn't deserve to be dropped had to be dropped to make way for Marsh. If it aint broke don't fix it. The current team is broke though and does need fixing!!

i think people are only starting to realise that Stuart Pearce actually did a decent job of keeping us up, especially as we have what we do now because we're palying top flight football.

He put the football club before himself, his popularity and his reputation and just made sure we did what we could with the resources we hd to try and stay in the premier league.

this

he was given nothin and in the end his signing of mpenza was whatkept him up

I thought that Swales became Chaiman in 1973,a year after Rodders was signed from QPR.We can't blame the sheet music man for losing us the 1st division title in 1972.

stuart pearce was the lowest point in my city following life.

abysmal.
I bet you carried on going though didn't you FHBE? Pisses me off when people are still using it as an excuse for not going.

Valid reasons for not going:
Being skint, change of circumstances, simply can't be arsed any more, etc

Shite excuse for not going:
The brand of football we played two managers ago.

The 'poor' home Cup Attendances go back to City resting 6 players v Arsenal resting 11 in the League Cup.

This was charged at £25 and casued many toi drop out of the direct cup scheme.

Season ticket Holders should be let in free for the first couple of rounds of the Cups
