Surely some heavy rotation after those last 3 games. Hopefully De Bruyne, Fern and one or two others have the game off completely.

It's a cup game so we know Pep will take it seriously.

Shouldn’t let Dinho, Rodri and KDB anywhere near this game. Sterling and Bernardo to get a couple mins of the bench. 60 mins for Aguero

Sterling - Aguero - Mahrez
D Silva - Doyle - B Silva
Angelino - Garcia - THB - Walker
Ederson

This or similar to this is what Pep would play ... with those front three all on bench today, expect them to be starting the next one ... plus Pep has played a master stroke with Ederson (if he isn’t ill), privately he’s told him off for making a silly mistake and costing us the Wolves game but also have given Bravo an extra game in the League and will use Ederson in the FA Cup throughout, like he did last season. He would want to win both domestic cups again now that were so far behind in the league ... he sees every shiny thing as the same, be it the community shield or one of the domestic cups, makes no difference to him whatsoever ... won’t even be surprised if Ederson came in for the second leg against United if it was in the balance and most certainly for the Final should we get through ...

As for the FA Cup, watch out for Klopp throwing it away as early as possible but Mourinho targeting that one as well as Pep would.

Don't know why Garcia needs rest, think the kid should play as much as possible now.
Because we might need Garcia against the rags 3 days later. If he plays against both Port Vale and the rags, that would be 4,5 games for him in 12 days

Carson; Cancelo Harwood Stones Angelino; Doyle Foden D Silva; Sterling Aguero Bernardo

League Cup SF is a few days later so I expect we'll rest a few for this and then strongest possible team against United.

Having watched today, i cannae wait for these next two cup games. Cups are where it’s at this season :-)

Presumably we will see something similar to this,
Bravo, Cancelo, Garcia, Harwood-Bellis, Angelino , Doyle, Zinchenko, Foden, Bernardo , Silva, Aguero

Keep Dihno and rodri well away from this game....they need a rest (esp Dihno)

City currently enjoy a cushion of 13 points (after 21 games played) down to the level which would exclude qualification to next year's Champions League. So some breathing space there. But - realistically - any chance of the Premiership title is gone for this season. So it makes sense to me to prioritise the cup competitions at this point. That's where the glory is. There lies the silverware. To me, winning the League Cup would be far more memorable than the difference between a 2nd/3rd/4th finish in the Prem. Achieve the best possible final position from here, yes - but not at the expense of forfeiting a trophy which City has a great chance of winning. Go strong in the cups for me. The league is where City have a bit more leeway.

i think it may be a little stronger and if Stones is fit, he may get a run out purely for fitness purposes. Pep takes this cup pretty seriously usually but last year we had Burton after, not United and he only played Foden of the younger lot.

Feel we should keep the 343 going, no need to lose momentum from this formation. I'd go

----------Foden------Sterling------Braaf
Angelino---Zinchenko----Bernardo----Cancelo

As the front 7. The back 3 can be whatever, should probably let Garcia continue on and give Stones and Otamendi some minutes as they will still be needed for the season.

Hopefully we dont run Dinho into the ground. Rodri can play CB again and that'd be okay too.

Can swap foden and Braaf to let them play inverted as well, might be better actually.
