I recon we find a stop gap for 3 seasons then Kev finishes his career as HM, KDB would piss that position
14 fouls tonight for Spurs....no bookingsJust putting our performance aside, I found myself yet again frustrated with the fouls for/against situation. This isnt the only time I have had my suspicions about abrasive teams such as porto who have a couple of dirty players in their team getting an easy ride versus City.
Maybe porto should lobby for that ref from last night to be able to officiate their league games too after giving just FOUR decisions against them during last nights game. I did a little search of their league match stats so far this season, and lo and behold their foul counts in their four games so far according to footystats.org were 18, 19, 19, and 20???? Not content with those findings incase I had misread/understood the stats I checked the bbc match reports for all sixteen champions league games this week. Should we be surprised by now to see that porto commited the least fouls of any team in this round of fixtures?
You can call me paranoid for even caring to check this info, but are porto with pepe and a bitchy manager really paragons of fair play just because its us they are playing.I think not, and will be interested to see their foul count in the rest of their group games.
To me this begs a question.....are we reffed differently? I know others on this forum have asked he same and it seems unlikely that uefa can get away with a conserted on pitch campaign against us, but looking back on our cl record, it is littered with contentious decisions. Or maybe the officials are actually subliminally affected by the anti City rhetoric/brand damaging that has been successfully employed by our media and certain parts of footballs governing bodies.
Whatever, it does seem unlikely that we will be winning this competition anytime soon given the above and our form(which can and hopefully will improve), but alas I still think we have yet to win the hearts of those that are in a position to affect our chances before we can win the competition, and I am not sure we can do....or want to do that.
HM ?I recon we find a stop gap for 3 seasons then Kev finishes his career as HM, KDB would piss that position
Talking shiteNo were not reffed differently in fact we have had our fair share of penalties if you exclude United.
,+1HM ?
What do you want me to say. The refs got it in for us, the media got it in for us, the commentators got it in for us.Talking shite
His Majesty.HM ?
Holding Midfield?His Majesty.
Holding Midfield?
Tactical divingPeople say we give away cheap fouls , some maybe but mostly teams are told to fall down to stop our flow, it is a clear tactic
If you really think it boils down to amount of penalties given then you’re a fool. What do you want me to say. The refs got it in for us, the media got it in for us, the commentators got it in for us.
TBF the ref and VAR could have overturned the penalty. Gundo's challenge on the keeper gave them the opportunity.Just putting our performance aside, I found myself yet again frustrated with the fouls for/against situation. Tbf, it was one of City’s pre-season IN-SEASON games, against one of the fittest teams in the League, so it was always going to get sporty late in the game. It’s not the way we are set up to play and it doesn’t win you the league.
Look at the Leeds game. Total control in the first half but end to end in the 2nd. I know which half I preferred.
First of all, you are not 'paranoid' for your response to Wednesday night's refereeing performance.Just putting our performance aside, I found myself yet again frustrated with the fouls for/against situation. This isnt the only time I have had my suspicions about abrasive teams such as porto who have a couple of dirty players in their team getting an easy ride versus City.

I know what you both mean regarding the pen(s), and its a fair point because they had the opportunity to overule the pen, but my post is more about how our rivals are reffed when playing us, hence my references to portos recent fouls record. In fact, if you really wanted to influence proceedings, it would be less obvious if you gave the opposition leeway than if you were blatantly hard on us, from a reffing perspective. No were not reffed differently in fact we have had our fair share of penalties if you exclude United.
Rat boy also seems totally oblivious to the walking yellow card that is Matic or the Scots wunderkid TM McTomminay. Matic party trick is to smack his opponent in the face with arms raised every time he receives the ball under pressure and pretends like it was an accident if he gets pulled by the ref (ie hardly ever), whilst erstwhile strawberry blond freckly **** has no compunction in administering sly kicks and pulls, known as tactical fouls which is NEVER mentioned by commentators as such, yet commits them game in, game out.Ever since that rat face **** Neville had an MNF session just to highlight our "tactical fouls" refs have picked up on it.
You'd think we were the first team to start doing it.
If you really think it boils down to amount of penalties given then you’re a fool.
keep your eyes closed mate, I’m sure it’s more comforting in the dark.
