Porto v City Post Match Discussion thread

Anyone else feel this could be a turning point for City/Europe?

Ive always felt we've been a bit hit and miss but tonight, even after a goal down, we looked like a team with confidence and belief. I think it could turn out to be quite significant.

Terrific result for city. Shows how much we've misssed yaya, can't wait to destroy them in the second leg!!!

Villas-Boas has tipped Porto to send Manchester City crashing out of Europe.

AVB led the Portuguese side to the Europa League title last summer.

And Porto host City in the same competition in the last 32 tomorrow.

Villas-Boas said: "I think it's an interesting confrontation — perhaps the most interesting in this phase.

"Porto have a great chance of going forward. I know the players, the club, the structure and they can challenge Manchester City.

"The atmosphere in the Dragao will be very hard for City. They could have problems. At Manchester, the atmosphere is not so aggressive.

"I don't know what their dedication is like to the competition. Sometimes, coaches use a competition to give opportunities to other players.

"If they play together and keep their defence in order they can cause a surprise. City leave themselves exposed going forward."

Dearest AVB hope you liked the match as you'll be here from the group stage in September.

Delighted with the result, any away win first leg in Europe is great and we played very well.Lescott motm for me closely followed by Nige,YaYa,Clichy. They aint gonna be looking forward to chasing the game at ours.

They looked absolutely knackered by the middle of the 2nd, like they had given their all, which I think they had to be honest they played at a high tempo but did not have the fitness to keep it up
