Positive BBC thread

It's a shame about the football content on the website and breakfast TV has gone a bit shit with their pretend conversations about the news but they still do some outstanding drama, comedy and wildlife documentaries.
100% agree on Breakfast TV. Endless non news stories these days

So much good stuff to watch and listen to and it's amazing value really. Anything with David Attenborough. Happy valley. Line of duty is coming back soon apparently.

I dislike them intensely as an organisation for multiple reasons. The majority of their programming is banal and cliched. They do occasionally broadcast some gems though. Currently, Wolf Hall is as good as it gets. Bleak House the Dickens adaptation was very good. Happy Valley, Line of Duty until it got silly. These diamonds are increasingly rare though

Don't think I have watch many things on live tv from the BBC or ITV for 3-4. years now due t9 most of it beingg time filling crap.

however the iplayer is well used where I can pick the decent qualiity stuff to watch at my liesure also big up for local radio and 6 music.

Not on TV, but Radio 5 never stops advertising itself and ads for BBC iPlayer are all over the bloody place. Not as bad as ITV advertising ITVX though.

Ok, I hear you.

Instead of listening to Radio 5, stick LBC on. The adverts will drive you absolutely nuts. Endless McDonalds, solicitor’s ’who care’, energy firms, betting and gambling adverts. It’s so bad, it feels like they want you to switch channels!

Give me BBC every day of the week (apart from Tony Livesey)!

Apologies for veering off topic but ITVX must be the absolute worst for adverts. Makes YouTube look like they hardly bother with them.

I very rarely watch any ‘live’ non sport TV. But the kids wanted to watch a film the other day and I fired it up on ITVX just because it was the first suggestion.

My God, a 90 minute film must have lasted the best part of three hours.
