Positive news about Corona Virus Updates

If you want positive news about the virus, dont turn on the BBC. Still continued negative news with poor journalism. Absolutely no analysis of the reduction in figures. Showing care home/ vs hospital percentages. No analysis of the age of the deaths. They made a real continued effort to report young people dying early on, now the numbers have improved not a mention of it. Just people complaining about losing hospital appointments.

So I had a look at Covid19 deaths on the NHS England website. The drop in hospital deaths is significant. At the height of the pandemic deaths were in excess of 700/day for 9 days in a row, hitting a peak of 899 deaths on the 8th April. By the begining of June this figure had dropped to below 100. And for the last verified number, the 8th June, the number had dropped to 50. I just wanted to share that good news.

My Mother has Lupus and has to go for check-ups at the hospital and blood taken regularly.

Obviously she hasn’t been able to go for the last three months, but her Doctor from the MRI gave her a ring yesterday and as they we’re chatting she told me Mam that of her 900+ patients only 14 have had Covid, only 4 hospitalised, only 1 put on a ventilator and nobody has died so far.

All of these people will have been ordered to isolate at home for the last 12 weeks. Shows how effective isolating and people around the vulnerable being sensible and following the regulations, really is.

My town had 90 odd hospital deaths in April, 50 odd in May and in June so far there have been 2. There have been no deaths in Nursing Homes for 3 weeks. It’s very positive news

Was talking to a local ambulance man and he said that A&E are back to their normal 15 minutes waiting as the great malingerers of society are staying at home with their headaches or sprained thumbs until the pandemic is over...he reckons the flood gates will open again
I’m hoping this time in lockdown has made people realise that they don’t need to go to hospital or the doctor for every minor ailment or pain they suffer with.

I don't know whether it was they way I was brought up with a Mother who genuinely was really ill at times so it makes me being ill seem like sod all; or a Father who was never ill (had about half a dozen days off work ill since he left school); or whether it’s just that I played rugby and saw lads play-on with a broken cheek or dislocated shoulder so it sort of makes you toughened to pain and realise that pain doesn’t mean something is serious...

I still have fingers to spare when I count the amount of times I’ve been to the doctors in my life. I didn’t have a single day off school from Year 7 until I left in Year 13 (think I had a few days off in Primary school but you’re a germ magnet when you’re a kid aren’t you?)

But fuck me some people are always complaining about something that’s up with them. Whether illness or pain. It makes it harder for all those who are genuinely ill or injured to get better because the health system is clogged up with blaggers and hypochondriacs.
