Positive news:
In the USA the science-denying, COVID-19 conspiracy endorsing, anti-virologist has been voted out of office.

Pfizer has developed a vaccine which appears to be extremely efficacious - though what exactly is meant by "90% effective" remains unclear.

Other companies too have vaccines in the works that target the same molecular site as Pfizer's vaccine and so will likely prove to be very effective.
 
The ONS are reporting that the R rate has fallen to between 1 and 1.2 and daily infections are down to around 50k. Other recent surveys has put daily infections at between 50k and 90k
 
Just spoken to somebody that was taken on and trained for the flu vaccine roll out. She's just been taken on from 1st December through to end of March. Plan is the roll out of vaccines to be complete by the end of March. Depending on what other different vaccines becoming available, might be an annual program.
