Overall, I thought we were excellent tonight, and despite not being there, we fully deserve to be in the last 16, as we were the better team over the two legs - Kiev just took the chances they had in the first leg, and we didn't take the chances we had tonight. We battered them from start to finish and approached the game excellently, and for the first time since January 1st 2011, I thought the players were playing for the shirt, and for the fans.

It's great to see De Jong back, and it's good to see Johnson back as well, and Milner's inclusion was promising ahead of Sunday.

And I'm finally starting to see what a couple of posters said months ago; a midfield of Yaya Touré and Gareth Barry, is not going to make us world-beaters. They are both lazy, uninspiring and slow. I don't know whether they're both unfit, but they just seem behind everyone else when in play. Yaya Touré is decent going forward, but he rarely contributes anything, other than a direct run once a month. I don't know where to start with Barry. He gives away posession too easily, he can't run, every movement he makes looks like it takes a lot of effort when it shouldn't, and doesn't seem to contribute anything anymore. If we're going to play 40+ games per season, then we need someone better than him to play in his position regularly: Hamsik, Sneijder, Banega or Tino Costa etc.

Balotelli. Is he going to be our bad boy like Rooney is to United? I don't understand him. 10 goals in 18 games this season; that's a great record. He has exceptional talent, and on his day, he can take on anyoneand is almost unplayable. But 9 yellow cards and two reds in 18 games? Jesus Christ. His assault tonight was ludicrous. I just don't know whether I want him or not.

A great display, and it was only spoilt by the overall result. We've got Wembley to look forward to, and I feel tonight's result could be a blessing in disguise. We've only get 11 games left this season, whereas, if we'd gone through tonight, we'd have had another 13 games left. Had we gone all the way in Europe, we'd have had to play half a Premier League season in less than three months. Our home form is now 11 wins from the last 12 games, with the 12th being the draw against Fulham.

Lots of positives from tonight, for sure.

It's amazing you would find playing LESS games a positive. Success = MORE games by it's very nature. Weird logic.
Totally agree about Milner and Yaya. Yaya for me is a complete waste of time and offers noithing in his present role. A midfield of DeJong and Milner with Silva and 2 wingers is needed. Mancini is too stupid to see it as is Kidd, Platt and the rest of our inept coaching team.

No I'm happy with less games as we have already played 9 more Chelsea and 8 more than spurs.

Well done Mancini, tactics were right tonight but Balo needs to change or fuck off.

What are our players suffering from most? Fatigue?

We can push on for fourth and the FA Cup with less games to play. We can now be fresh for Wembley, whereas, United will have played in the week. We'll just be "fresher".

:)

Well, we are in 1/4, but...
Our players played ugly, bloody disastrous. Don't know whom to blame - Milevskiy's injury, Semin that asked players before the game to play by overall score, Kravets that got injured already in Manchester prior to the game and thus couldn't play.
But overall quality was too darn poor. That's what fans think here.

Liked Tevez, Silva, De Jong and Dzeko (should have scored, though).
Wish you luck with Chelsea, MU and sustaining the 4th position, guys!
See you next year in CL.

No we have a shorter english word: cheats

F off back to the Ukraine and take your silly patronising crap with you.
You may well have to rethink your shot by a sniper policy if you get the 'wrong' ref

have you thought of trying to play football ??? Just give it a whirl.

Do you really believe that?
The Scum have played CL footy for years and still been succesful in cups and winning titles so the freshness theory doesn't hold up. What does though is having a manager who knows tactics, formation and game plans to get 100% from every player and maximise their talent to the last drop. NOT one who puts constraints on them, sends out a team to play 1 way only regardless of the opposition and despite it being obviously flawed.

What you have to remember, is that over the years that United have won several trophies, they've never had to deal with the 25-man squad rule, they've had a much better team than we do now, and they have had Ferguson.

Our squad now is a good one, but if we don't play De Jong, then we have to play Vieira. Whereas, if Keane was injured, Scholes was there to fill in or play both roles. They were just that good.
