Post match song about Willie

Walking back to Wembley Park tube station a new song broke out 'in praise' of Willie Cabellero which many on here will have doubtless heard or subsequently heard about.

At the time it felt very funny, but should fans be tempted to take it up again on Wednesday night, I would like to suggest a revision which is altogether more respectful to the man. And moreover, it turns it back on the FANS (like myself) who had so vehemently berated the man before his heroic display in the final.

The original went: "There's only one Cabellero..one Cabellero..You used to be shite but now he's alright - walking in a Willie Wonderland".

Humorous as this was, it's hardly something he would feel proud to hear ringing out from the stands

I think a better refrain would be "We SAID you were shite - but you TURNED OUT alright".

Willie was being set up to be the fall guy on Sunday should it all go wrong. And his confidence must have been shaky to say the least. What a show of character to put in such a performance and win the cup for the Blues. Now we should show the man some love!
 
I would like something based on the Sweets 'Little Willy', something like 'Willy Cabellero is in goal and you can't beat Willy cos Willys in goal, try telling all the scousers but woah no, Willy, Willy, Willy Cab-all-ero...'

I would love to sing this to them cocky twats several times over the next few years.....

Need to be of a certain age to appreciate , but this is without doubt the winner in my mind

Prefer your version but doubt most of the fans will be able to change words now!!!
 
The one I heard was "City won the cup with a Willy in the goal, a Willy in the goal, a Willy in the goal... City won the cup with a Willy in the goal a Willy the goal etc," yellow submarine etc

All pretty good but this ones the best by far.

The "Hokey Cokey" one has been going for a few weeks now - the lads in front of me were annoyingly singing it at the start of the game at Wembley...continually..

....turned out they must've known what was going to happen later that day, when even I joined in!

Not sure my Facebook status that day should have been "Always doubted my love for Willy, until today. What an experience!"

I first heard it in 2014 in the 7-0 against Wednesday, not many tend to join in.
 
The willy in, willy out song has been around since we signed him. Newcastle away first game of last season was when it started
