That was like going back in time tonight. Everything about it was fantastic. The atmosphere in and out of the ground was good, there was a bit of tension in the air, the conditions out on the pitch were perfect and after a relatively poor first half we turned it around in fucking style. That's the most I've enjoyed a game in a long time.
Fucking love this club.
I thought it was a pretty low key affair for a semi-final. The 3,000 German fans made so much more noise than everton. I'm used to City not singing when the visitors have our end

Football was good 2nd half

Fantastic performance, brilliant atmosphere and fully deserved victory.

My choice for MotM was Dinho, Mrs Vienna voted for Raheem, but a case could be made for any of them. Our defence dealt with everything the Toffees could throw at it, after parting like the Red Sea for their goal.

MP's substitutions were excellent, IMHO. Navas and KdB proved their worth and were instrumental in winning the game and Nando played his part in helping to shore things up after Sergio's goal.

Well done Blues, both on the pitch and in the stands.

Sling it Marvin. You're not killing my buzz tonight! Haha!

Kevin's injury is said to be a medial ligament injury and they normally take 4-6 weeks to heal. it's a bummer but it could have been a lot worse. think of it this way: we'll have Nasri, Kompany and de Bruyne coming back to full fitness at the same time so if we're within three points of the summit come the end of March it could really spur us on. here's hoping.

as for the game itself, I thought we were awful in the first half and we were lucky to get that chance we scored when we did. Everton were a constant threat on the break even though we had three in midfield and nothing we tried seemed to have much fluidity or class to it. but we got some good fortune with the goal - full marks to Fernandinho for taking the initiative to bomb forward and get on the end of a deflection - and were unlucky maybe not to go in at half time with a lead after Serge hit the post.

the biggest swing came in a twenty minute spell after half-time, though, and we took full advantage: Caballero saved a crucial 1-on-1 with Deulofeu, Martinez then made a bizarre change by taking him off which meant Clichy and Sterling had absolutely nothing to think about, and then we sent on de Bruyne who popped up to score the second goal. yep, the ball was over the byline but we've been denied two blatant penalties against Everton this month so it was about time we had some good fortune of our own.

from there we went about our business fairly comfortably. i can't remember Caballero having to make a save after we scored the third goal. obviously there are some serious negatives - one of which is Otamendi's troubling thirst to make rash challenges high up the pitch - but we're finally back at Wembley in a cup final and, crucially, we were resilient when it mattered (as we were against West Ham). i don't really like Pellegrini's style anymore but i'm enjoying his new "throw everyone forward" approach when we're not winning - that bodes well for the rest of the season. our form since the defeat at Arsenal is P9 W5 D3 L1, F18 A7 which is much, much better than our record pre-christmas.

we're not convincing by any stretch but it's coming together... slowly... i hope?

martinez squealing like a pig in the after match was music to my ears, what goes around comes around you ****

I was expecting Lukaku to have a field day against Demichelis, but I don't Lukaku won a challenge all night

I thought City's back 5 were superb.

Only thing that bothered me was Barkley running through unchallenged. Didn't get Delph's substitution at half time. he was the only midfielder who was putting a tackle in. Toure really is on borrowed time. For a player who makes so little physical contribution he has to make a huge impact with the ball. He isn't doing. Use him as a sub
Ok, we can tidy this up. Very poor defending for the Barley goal - but it happens.

The Delph substitution that you didn't get was a managerial decision that won us the game. We scored the crucial goals in the 7oth and 76th minute. This was a decision that ultimately won us the match. Whether you or I don't get it doesn't matter - that just gives some people a stick to hit with when things don't go our way. Whether we don't 'understand' a decision means cock-all when we win the match. It only matters when we don't achieve. On this occasion the absolute correct decision was made by our manager. We need to give credit when and where it's due.

He's such a doom and gloom merchant. The end of the world is nigh! Why someone supports a team just to be defeatist all the time is not only pointless but also a bit strange
.

Great result....AGAIN thought the commentator was wishing Everton to win......they reviewed our 2nd goal to death.....funny how they ignored the foul on Kun before their goal and after the 1st leg NEVER mentioned the pen!!!!.....Martinez moaning ha ha
