Yes, we need to concentrate on Tory bashing in here, and the pensions stuff is distracting :-)

Don't see what pensions really has to do with this debate. I am fortunate and have been saving since I was 18. I believe in a market based economy, just a fairer one that spreads the money around a little better.

I don't ignor that. When you were all hanging out her arse talking about how solid she was, how much of a good negotiated she would be I was calling her Mayday, Mayday.

She made a **** of the Home Office, she was awful during Brexit campaign. You believed the right wing media creation. I always said she was ducking useless. It was the Tirues in here who bought the shite, now you're backtracking saying she's the worst.

Have a read through the Tories on here bigging her up before the campaign started. Fucking embarrassing how duped you all were.

I knew she was one of the worst ever, the Tories in here thought she shat gold.
Have you been drinking?

You're welcome mate for me doing a bit of digging on annuity rates for you.

Happy to help, especially when I see you're so appreciative.

Yeah! We should get back to how dangerous getting into bed with the DUP is.

Hahahaha. They worked on an economic package for Northern Ireland once and an unsourced claim which is obviously bollocks in the context because Labour couldn't have made any Govt deals in 2015. 2 things much ado about nothing whereas Tories are putting DUP at the forefront regarding UK wide Government.

Must try harder.

I still have another 16 years in work so have not looked that far, but your digging is more encouraging than my statements. might even have to put Dignitas back a few years.

Always shop around. Most pension companies know people don't and I've never seen a company's own quote better the rate that someone can get on the open market.

And take advice on drawdown as well.

When you are reduced to Guido Fawkes as a source, your fucked.

Post election polls have Labour 6% above Tories. they have now overtaken the Tories despite being more than 20 points behind when Theresa May first called for a general election.

And you know full well that they started well behind the UK in terms of infrastructure and other attractions, such as availability of skilled resources.

However,

I presume you are failing to mention that the Republic of Ireland has had a lower rate of corporation tax rates than the UK for about 50 years now, and that the Celtic Tiger economy was at a time when they were receiving exceedingly large sums of EU money for large scale infrastructure plans, like the DART, M1 north toll road, Dublin ring road (also tolled), motorway West towards Galway, the LUAS etc etc for a specific reason?

Yes its not that hard is it, what's stopping it, Party donations?
Party donations, board memberships offered to politicians, ex politicians on the board etc, etc.
Basically legal corruption. Tory and Labour. Probably Lib Dem too as I note that a few got company directorships out of being in the coalition.

Occupational pension schemes have virtually been wiped out as the companies have seen them as too expensive. They now pay minimum into private schemes. Then when you get to the end annuity's are so low, that you don't get back what you put in before you are dead.

Yep Started in the late 80's with the Tory Gov not stopping companies having "Pension Fund Payment Holidays". 1993 showed that to be a folly.
Then Gordon brown stole 10% of everybody's retirement pension as tax which kicked final salary funds over the edge. This really was a wicked tax.
McDonnel would have stolen a further 2-5% off everybody's pension fund with with financial transaction tax as well - so much for not taxing the individual!

What you don't get is that a majority of voters don't want that brand of politics. The man in the street doesn't care much for ideologues, academics and bitters, specially when they focus their energies on in-fighting. Only when you resolve those differences will you get power.
Completely agree. Who caused the infighting within labour? Wasn't the membership or Corbyn.
Not sure about the man in the street and it could be argued that there is no majority in the uk anyway which opens the door to change.
