Watching Conservative MP's going alone with the stability needed line and seeing them try to be positive is hilarious.

If I was Corbyn I'd be looking for a meeting with the entire party, ask them who's with him and with those that are shape a new cabinet and crack on with preparing for another GE in the very near future. One which they would win a majority.

Not really, just certain voters; he's giving them a reality check. He's stating they are happy being losers as long as they can 'derive a sense of self-worth and moral righteousness from the political causes they take up' That's they way I read it.

He's wrong though. Yes they lost. Like they were predicted too. but the tide has turned ... people are swaying to a socialist/left government in the shape of Corbyn and if we can keep the momentum going it will happen. This will be better for everyone.

On thing that wasn't mentioned during the whole campaign from any of the parties was the military (apart from Trident). But who was is the country turned to recently when the national terror threat was elevated, or when G4S cocked up at the Olympics in 2012? Remember the fuel strikes back in 2000 when military personnel were used to escort fuel trucks from the refinery, or the Fire Service strikes in 2002?

If Corbyn gets his way, the military is going to get decimated, and you certainly aren't going to get the police force to be able to undertake the same roles, however much of the money saved on the military is thrown at them.

How on earth is he going to garner enough support among middle-England voters? Without them he simply cannot get a majority.

Actually my view (I voted Labour) is that if he'd moderated his position slightly he'd have taken even more votes. Those that voted for Labour this time did so because they offered a positive and optimistic manifesto. However, the fact is the Tories were too right and Labour was too left hence nobody won a majority. If Labour want to win a majority they need to be able to suck up votes from people that simply wont countenance a far left offering. Although Labour did better than expected, they did so against a thoroughly miserable Tory offering - yet still finished pretty comfortably behind them. They need to find a sweet spot and not think that this election is hinting at some new wave of hardcore socialists across the UK - it's really not.

Unless the Tories get their act together. In which case they may not.

No. He's entirely correct. You can't win a majority without middle England. Hence coming 60 seats short despite the abortion of a campaign run by the Tories.

He was very very close. So many constituents were on a knife edge really - had that vote been done another month later I reckon he could have got a majority - he's manifesto was not extreme left wing as some like to make it. It was sensibly costed and people saw that, the momentum is on his side, people can say that's down to May and her campaign. But the reality is Corbyn has reached out to the youth and the poorest in our society against all odds.

This is a Tooting Popular Front meeting for some here? Seems like a viable, practical and realistic choice for government...

I'm not sure it's possible. He's need to charm middle England and he can't do that. Not matter how much he bribes the younger generation. It maybe worse for you after the boundary changes as well.

Do you mean in the same way the tories have been doing for the last 7 years?

If Corbyn gets his way, we'll have an adequate police force and won't be needing as much of an army as we won't be sticking our nose into other countries' affairs when not wanted.

Yeah! We should get back to how dangerous getting into bed with the DUP is.

A letter guaranteeing existing funding to NI...
...with the DUP and other parties in NI...

Hardly "getting into bed". You'd think the Tories would give up on distortion and lies but no, that's still the way it goes....

The military has been decimated. Not by Corbyn.

Tories give Olympics security contract to a company whose directors donate to the party and then cock up and you think it's great that the army were called in!

Incidentally, there should be an investigation into how much anti-Corbyn stuff has circulated semi-officially within the army.

PLP meet Tuesday. It will be interesting to see what comes out of it.

Well they may have to wait 5 years. Why do you think the Conservatives have gone to ground barring a couple of Remainers and Tarzan?

How do you define an adequate police force?
I ask because as far as I can see based on crime statistics the police force are doing a great job.
