Postal workers refuse to deliver BNP leaflets

being a postie in oldham and delivering to a prodomently asian area, i'll let you in a few thing's it's the cwu rep who told us we didn't have to deliver the BNP leaflets if we felt we would be threatend when out on delivery. personally i took the view that if someone was going to pay me nearly 5 p a leaflet it was an extra £40 in my pocket, when put together with green party and ukip leaflets it's a nice little earner so they got deliverd and i had no problems at all with it. If anyone would of challanged me i'd of flicked a red elastic at them and told them i'm only doing my job.
It's all down to personnal prefrence whether you decide to deliver them ,in the oldham office i know of only 2 postie's who have declined to do so.

Surely this is a breach of the post office policies. much as we dont care for the bnp until they become a bannned party or we the british public opt out of freedom of speach..i say deliver them and let the grown ups decide...

So the CWU rep holds fears that parts of Oldham may be No-Go, ghetto-like areas and Public sector workers going about their job of work , delivering leaflets for a lawful ,legitimate political party, in this wonderful Democracy of ours may be targetted with violence...?
