No. It would only really work if we had legitimate wide midfielders as opposed to fullbacks and wingers. Even then, we'd lose out on attacking options while probably also sacrificing defensive stability given all the positional changes required during a match to best take advantage on attack and defense.

And how would De Bruyne fit in? Because you best believe he's signing soon.

Garcia did that in the 2014 title run in, esp away at Palace, played in front of the back two then sat between them if one of the full backs went forward to attack or intercept. Kompany could play the Garcia role for certain games.

really... 2 weeks ago, everyone was slating Kompany and managala and their CB partnership wouldn't work etc.....Now we dont need a world class CB.
Having 3 good CB's will help us to win all domestic competations... and take us one step further in Champions league. Most important..this will make them to fight for their place(including Kompany)

Mancini used it successfully to close out games. It was when he used it as a starting line up that it went wrong, probably because we didn't have players really suited to it. But Otamendi-Kompany-Mangala could be a useful option towards the end of games.

No. Juve were the best 3 at the back side in world football but they have changed to a 4-1-2-1-2 these days, Pep's had a shot at it with Bayern but changed back.
