The poznan needs to be consigned to history alongside other abominations to have blighted us, such as having Pleat run across maine Road, Losing competitive football matches to Stockport County, Alan Ball and peter swales.

The issue with the Poznan is the same issue with every other City song. It's done at 200mph so that when one end of the stadium/part of a stand are just starting to turn their backs the other half/part are already turned back round giving it CITY CITY CITY. Slow it down, give everyone a chance to get involved, because when they do - it looks fantastic. The media can turn the mics down but they can't turn the camera's off.

Edit - when for example Celtic do their version (the huddle) it lasts for ages and the entire stadium has their backs turned all in unison. Works far better than the patchy attempts we make all too often.

You're right, but does that mean we shouldn't try?

We know it's not beyond the bounds of human possibility; Celtic can eke it out for more than 15 seconds.

Let's do it; if nothing else, if it's a success, it might make some of the old time die hard professional miserablists shut the fuck up for a few minutes.

The thing about the Poznan nowadays is it just spreads around the ground rather than everyone doing it in unison. It was decent at West Ham because it went on for a while in the upper tier while everyone was doing it. If the South Stand/East Stand corner starts it as soon as the anthem starts, it will carry round. Then at the end, just shout City! City! City!

Easy as that. The moaners or the 'too cool to Poznan' brigade - we all look forward to seeing you Poznan on Tuesday!
