Maybe a simpler explanation is that while you can use google to translate polish sentences, they rarely translate the context of what is actually said (see all the translations of foreign news articles about City on here - most read like gibberish). Maybe he is actually a genuine Polish football supporter ? and maybe he was just offering to show you that he is genuinely Polish ?
