Prague

Vysehrad is definatly worth a visit. It's a bit out of the city centre but it does mean you get nicer, cheaper restaurants than in the main tourist areas
Indeed. Plenty of bars and restaurants at good prices. Take the funicular up to the Strahov Stadium, biggest stadium you'll ever see. Prague is my favourite city, but Vysehrad is the coolest area. Just be careful in the city centre tho. The castle is worth a visit, and get yourself over to the east of the city and check out the TV tower!

I'm going to dig up a pm that somebody sent me when I was going to Prague a couple of years back and send it to you.

Found it. Read it and do it all. This pm was sent to me by a brilliant poster on here that was living there at the time. He honestly made the trip better than I could have imagined.

Was it @mcfcinprague by any chance? :)

The shooting ranges in Prague are fun and they have some mad bastard weaponry available.

Is there a specific area of vysehrad to go to. All i seem to be able to find is a cemetary
Just south of the cemetery is the place to stay. Cheap accommodation and good local bars. Just a short tram ride into the centre too. Anywhere near the big conference centre that is at the south end of the massive flyover. However, as someone else has already said, mcfcinprague can probably give you even better tips

Don't be taken in on st by offers of good exchange rate. A con. Great city. Good beer. Go the castle. Avoid taxis unless booked by hotel.

A pint in a bar is about 60 or 70p (can't remember how much that is in Czech Koruna). The nightlife is great if you avoid the stag parties and bar crawls, it was less than £5 entry in to the top clubs and they were packed every night of the week with locals. The city is beautiful and small enough so that you can walk to most places.

I've been to a fair few cities and Prague might be my favourite. Never felt unsafe walking back to the hotel at 3 or 4am whereas you feel like you're about to be mugged in a city like Amsterdam.
