Pre Match Thread: Chelsea vs City

It's going to be a struggle, I can see Silva getting marked by Matic pretty damn well. Aguero will probably be isolated quite often so the other players are going to have to raise their game (Navas, Milner, 2 Ferns)

I can see it being a draw because they don't have a big goal threat with no Costa and no Fabregas to create things. We just need to contain Hazard and they don't have much else.

Hazard, Di Maria and Sanchez are all players we should have been chasing.

Instead we seem to get that next tier down kind of player in Navas.

Can't we get people posting the same old shit banned?

Don't understand all the Navas hate, signing Bony was two birds with one stone because it will give Navas a new lease of life. Bony is much better in the air than Dzeko which will allow Navas to have more traditional crosses to get assists rather than having to work it into the box to get it low to Aguero. Always find it highly unfair to judge players midseason, you have to wait until the end of the season and review the season displays.

His point is valid though

I've never posted that before.

And yet we're above Arsenal and the Rags in the league, how'd that happen.

I'd take a draw now rather than go eight points behind. No goal threat? You have forgotten set pieces where compared to us they are very dangerous and we are abysmal at defending.

If Kompany and Aguero are not match fit then Pellegrini has to be brave enough to leave them out and play the system that was so successful when we had no strikers, admittedly with no Toure of course. We know they are both world class when fit but if not up to speed we are in effect playing with nine men. Aguero seems to need six matches to get back to his best form and he hasn't played that many yet.

At the minute we are too lightweight and low in confidence so a point would feel like a victory and keep us in touch until we get Toure and Bony back.

Someone has put £500 on Frank first goal scorer after 'seeing his face in the moon'

Would it be totally bonkers to go 4-4-2? Aguero would be SO much more of a handful if they had Dzeko to come them busy at the same time.

I know that could leave us exposed in midfield. but is it a risk worth taking?
