Pre Match Thread: League Cup Final v Liverpool

Of most concern tomorrow are Peller's go-to tactics that he keeps coming back to this season:
1. An Ultra High - defensive line against the Gagenpress with our players.
2. YaYa in a defensive two.
Co-Co in nets is a mere bagatelle to the above. Repeat the above and we've lost the game before a ball is even kicked.

Then again nobody ever won anything by continued negativity, did they? Like you I would far rather he selected Joe than Willy, but he won't , so we just need to get on with it

It's just my perspective, nothing negative about it other than you disagree...but that's fine maybe willy will have a blinder

Yep, the whole world can see it, knows it, but not Mr Stubborn. Ah well.

If our team sheet goes in the Liverpool dressing room tomorrow and Willy is playing it can only give them confidence. Why would anyone in their right mind not pick Joe?

From my point of view the thing that makes me angry is that MP has clearly taken a cup that most smaller clubs spend their lives wishing they could play for let alone win, for granted by not fielding his top keeper. I will spend the rest of my life wishing I could go to Wembley to see us play there again for it. To have March 2 2014 all over again. But I don't think we will. Not in my lifetime. That is why it was so important for me to go. The only chance of a Wembley appearance that does not involve playing a top team we have no chance of winning is the Championship Play-Off Final - which is why I would love us to go down so we have the chance to go to the Play-Off final.

Does the League Cup mean anything to Manuel? Having already won it and given what he has done elsewhere in the league for you, my guess is it means as much to him as an old tissue. That is why I think, as harsh as it is, the League Cup should not be open to the top teams. Especially given all the other ways a top team can enter Europe excluding the League Cup with half the effort. I think it should only be open to teams as high as say Tottenham or Everton.

Less worried about our keeper than I am about how we press the ball.

We defend the 18 yard line which is fine as long as we don't give their midfield time and space to play passes into runners behind our back 4. The game at home was the worst for this all season, from giving Can and Coutinho room to pick passes for runners.

We play as we did against them at home and our keeper's only job is keeping the score down

Totally spot on!

Sterling for the winner would be awesome

I class myself as someone who acts with a bit dignity when we win a game or a trophy. My mates even applaud me for not taking part in hounding them when City beat their sides, in turn the majority of them hardly ever give me any abuse (apart from one dipper I know).

If Sterling scores the winner, or even if he is just on the winning side, my dignity is going out the window and this certain person is getting barrels of it tomorrow.
