Pre match thread Spurs v City

Spurs is by no means an easy fixture. I doubt they are now a poor side, more not (yet) performing to their strenght.
I guess we get more room with Spurs likely to come out as they are at home. We have now a fantastic counter attacking team with KDB eager to put deep balls straight through to either Aguero or Sterling. I hope if Silva plays he instantly gells with KDB. If so I can hardly see us get beat by Spurs or any PL-team.
It will also be interesting to see who our two CB's will be on the day. Competition is really gearing up.

Only need a draw to end the weekend top of the table but chelsea and united both have easy games and a win would be a good confidence boost ahead of the CL midweek. Hopefully we finally get to see Yaya, De Bruyne, Silva and Aguero in the same team.

West Ham was a far more difficult game at home, than Spurs away will be, and the table indicates that.
Spurs will be low on confidence, and the sight of Aguero running at them will put the cat among the pigeons, hopefully Silva will be back, KDB, Yaya, Sterling, all causing havoc too.
We are away from home, we know a performance is needed, the boys will will deliver, I'm confident of it.

I'm always apprehensive when we play Spurs, probably a throwback to that period between 2004-10 where we lost 12 out of 13 games against them.

Obviously times have changed and our recent record is miles better, but it will still be a difficult game. They've steadily improved after a difficult start, and their injuries are starting to ease up. Hopefully last night's defeat will have an effect on them, whilst our tails should be up after our midweek win.

Really need to win or at the very least draw, as United won't drop points at home against Sunderland. Defeat would most likely see them overtake us at the top.

My only slight concern is that we have such strength in attack we might end up playing 415.
We have looked strong with Sterling left and Navas right as both hold their position on one side (they don’t drift in like Nasri or Silva) and track back when required.

If we play Yaya, Sterling, Silva, KDB, Aguero Its an awesome attacking line up but I don’t know what it would look like defensively.
There is an argument to drop Yaya for Fernando to make the midfield look more solid.

Yaya and De Bruyne are gradually forming an understanding that will make them an unplayable pair.

How often do we end the goal scoring droughts of opposition players!!! - Kane first goalscorer anyone?

Watching Spurs last night I would be wary of Erikson's ability on the ball but if we retain enough possession, and be more clinical with our chances, I would hope to see another 3 points coming our way!!
