Millers land friendly with Man City

Rotherham United have arranged a pre-season friendly with Manchester City and this will conclude their preparations a week before next season's August 8 kick-off.
A City XI will be at the Don Valley Stadium on Saturday, August 1 with the Millers also at home to Walsall on Saturday, July 18, Nottingham Forest on July 22 and Doncaster Rovers on Saturday, July 25.

Surely you would think we will have a home game with first team on the 1st Of August at COMS?
Anyone heard anything ? Or possible teams to play in a glamour friendly?

I've said for the past few weeks since our 'talks' with Barcelona that we will have them a friendly. AC Milan last year, Valencia the year before. Barca would be a great tie and I reckon it would draw in a reasonably good crowd, especially if they beat the Rags. Just imagine watching the likes of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Eto'o, Puyol, Alves etc. at CoMS, would be mint. I would certainly go and take some mates with me.

Our season starts a week after the Football League, the Rotherham game will be 2 weeks before the start of the season for us, I'd imagine we'll have the Ethihad Trophy game on the Saturday before the season starts, the 8th August.

It would be amazing watching them players but who will play for Barca ?

Don Valley is by a mile the worst stadium I have ever been in for football. The away fans sit in a corner miles back from the pitch and the stand isn't steep so you're watching from miles away at a shit angle.
