Predictions on the referendum

After 4 months of campaigning, delivering close to 40,000, holding 12 Street Stalls, and many many hours canvassing, and even being interviewed on the BBC 6pm News for Vote Leave, I can report the tide has turned.

At times the length of the campaign broke me, however it's worked in our favour as the scare stories lost their bite and people have now looked for themselves at the EU in detail. Yes there could be an economic ripple, but we've recovered before, what it is clear to me now is the British electorate are prepared to ride that wave to grab back control.

I am at the count on the night and should be able to give feedback on the % of real votes fairly quickly.

My belief is now Leave wins 53 -47.

If possible, please keep an eye out for the difference between the polling station and postal votes.

Very interesting the The Sun has come out for leaving. Murdoch is an odious toad and that paper is a disgusting rag. But he doesn't usually back the losing side when he has a nose for which way the wind is blowing.
I remember back when Blair was campaigning before his first election win, the Tories had a solid economy behind them, but were mired in sleaze allegations.
After years of supporting the Conservatives, the Sun suddenly announced that they were for Labour, to the surprise of most, but their volte-face resulted
in Blair becoming PM.
Love or hate it, this paper hasn't been wrong on this point.

Hopefully it will be a remain vote although its going to be close. If it goes to Leave I can see the first triumphalist attacks on minorities by outfits like the EDL and Britain First within hours followed possibly by tooled up East Europeans fighting back.

Then the stirrings of the financial services industry starting to move to Frankfurt will put the shits up the government who will blow the entire £350 million a day (or whatever Project Lie say it is this week) and more on bribing the super rich not to run away.

For the rest of us this will signal the start of the next round of austerity, further erosion of workers rights by a radical right wing government including Göve, Johnson and Duncan-Smith and the next leg of the race to the bottom.

If we vote out I'll be down to the Gemeindehaus to start the process to get the Red Passport (Swiss citizenship - I've been here long enough to qualify, but it's a long, expensive and difficult process which has always put me off in the past)

There were predictions of riots and civil unrest when the Scottish Referendum . It didn't happen.

Well structured comment but absolutely hilarious.

I feel your pain you big drama queen

The fear of Brexit has wiped billions off the stock market - with the FTSE 100 alone losing £67bn in the last few days.
Possibly a good time to look at investing?

I think Leave will win - the bookies odds are tumbling all the time and the latest polls from various sources are now showing a significant lead. I know we can't always trust the polls after the last election but I'm not sure I buy this idea that a lot of Brexiters will bottle it and change their vote at the last minute.

Events in the days leading up to the poll could swing it.

Any type of terrorist event could tip it to leave where as any kind of Economic woes could send it sharply the other way. Leave will always have the more impassioned followers as it’s hard to feel strongly about deciding not to do something but the overwhelming economic evidence in favour of remain will seal it amongst those who are not strongly attached to either side.

I think remain will take it baring any last minute gaffs and or events outside their control.

Bye! Enjoy your chocolates and cuckoo clocks......

I am not certain you are wrong, but it's not just about "Brexiters botting it". What about "undecided, deciding"? There's about 14% of them, which is more than enough to swing it either way.

It's a great speech but unfortunately not factually correct. cuckoo clocks are from north of the border in the Black Forrest of Germany.

I too could have a Swiss Passport but if anything a brexit vote would make me less likely to do so. May even start entertaining the notion of returning home one day.

Hopefully remain

The right wingers with Britian First, UKIP and now Murdoch behind them thoroughly depress me

As a right winger, I've got much less to be depressed about than you, but I'll still be gutted if Leave win it. Legions of hypnotized rats following Pied Boris Piper to their doom and they are too far gone to see it. Hopefully sense will prevail.

You'll still be out of the eu once you get your Swiss passport - lucky git

Unfortunately I think the result is looking like being an exit, I dread to think what will follow. I am certainly expecting the pound to dip in value.
