I'm not able to put my finger on it but in the Prem we roll teams over for fun but it in CL it's taken 270 mins to score a goal in open play. It's not as if Villareal/Napoli are any better than what we play week in week out.

To be honest I'm not too fussed tonight after what I've seen today but just a subject to ponder.

Tempo and set up.

Napoli and Villareal set up to defend and get a goal on the break.

Are you serious? Alright, Villareal aren't brilliant but either them or Napoli are considerably better than Bolton/Swansea/Wigan/Everton.

True, next time we play Napoli we need to play wider and make sure our centre backs don't get too far forward because they are the masters of the counter attack. I thought we had it in the bag because of their defensive set up even though their forwards are ridiculous but I was wrong :(.

Different styles and setups, players like Silva find it tougher. Just like the rags we need to find the right setup and system for Europe - they often have players in European games that are on the bench in PL games and vice versa. A player like Hargreaves for example might suit the CL team more than the PL team. Seems to me like we could use a good winger for Europe as it always seems very congested in the middle.

Do only goals in open play count now? I hadn't realised they'd changed the rules, no wonder Bolton and Blackburn are in trouble and Martin O'Neill doesn't manage anymore.

I do thinking about it agree maybe Nap & villa are a better class than Everton etc.

Napoli on current form are better than all but maybe 3 or 4 English teams. They beat both Milans with ease.

Villarreal are wank domestically but it doesn't matter in Europe as we've seen time and time again... look how far Schalke got in the CL last season while being mid-table in the Bundesliga.

I do wonder what people watch. Napoli and Villareal are a class above. The CL is much superior in terms of quality. We willearn.
