Prem-proven or take a chance???

Zabby, Kompany. Have been shrewd buys. IMO when it comes to strikers they have to be world class or PL proven.

we are unlikely to find enough quality players available in the premiership, but equally foolish to pass up adding to the pool of experienced proven performers in the squad. 'tis finding the optimum blend of the two that will make or break hughes' reign here.

I hope we get players equally as good or better than Kompany and DeJong. But ... both have had to take this season to adapt and I personally don't think they are quite top notch prem players yet. Kompany seems very iffy with the ball, gives away frees to beat the band and is unable to link effectively with the attack a lot of the time. DeJong slows down our game completely as he's too "unsure" to make a forward pass. I hope they'll both be much better next season. (Goes to show IMO how well Robinho has adapted)

More of the same from overseas but we need some proven prem players to to keep us ticking over while we build.

Should Hughes go for prem-proven quality or take a chance on "worldbeaters"?

Prem players = Inflated prices.. Save a bob or two and get worldbeaters.

What's your definition of proven in the premiership??

If proven premiership players are of bellamys standard we should go after kaka or aguero.

Now is the time to bid for kaka because he actually has an asking price this time!

At the back and in midfield I'd be looking at Prem-proven, such as Barry, Alonso, Hangeland etc. Up front world beaters are required.

need eleven world class. we've already got 2 . no room for one-dimensional players if we are to be a force in europe . defenders can be ball-players too,in fact it is essential that they are comfortable on the ball and make intelligent use of it.That way the g.k. can give it a defender and we build from there as opposed to the aimless boot up the middle . doesnt matter if they are in the prem or not , imo, those who have failed in the past have been over-rated, played out of position or been expected to carry a team on his own { imagine kinky in a good team] bit like robbie for us , opponents often had 3 marking him in away games. they cant do that when we have multiple threats. To sum up a good prem player with a hefty price tag may not even make the bench in the top spanish and italian sides.
