Poison this legislation. Propose sanctions for excessive debt. If they want to go nuclear, we should too.
Every team has debt, like asking turkeys to vote for Christmas

Sanction it over a certain amount. A lot of clubs have losses, but you know full well that they will set a level where only we fail and everyone else passes through.

The clubs with little or no debt might be for it. At the very least, let the hypocrisy be plain for everyone to see.

Well they will have to wait till November to see what that level is. I would say Chelsea are about to go through 2 very painful losses

Re: Rags want a Premier League FFP!!!

Rags are shit scared this could also stop rich owners buying clubs which imo works for football. When our owner came in and gave skint clubs like Everton 24m for Lescott surely that's helping there finances out? Rags are bricking it and its funny as fuck to see them suffer. We aim to break even for FFPR we're nearly a finished article in terms of everything we don't need to spend 100s and millions anymore.

Re: Talkrubbish

Why is that when we weren't in our current position the majority of City fans held the view that the way the system worked was wrong? Ie. The top 4 holding all the cards with no chance of any real challenge to them?

Just note how the responses to this thread no longer hold the same values? Ie. Fuck the rest of them, we've made it now.

This is what irks me a little. I want a competitive league where there is a chance for all to make something of themselves, whether it be the way we have made it or whether it be by a sound management plan. Under the proposed plans we're back to square one as I see it.

What should be proposed by the likes of us, and those with no real chance of going insolvent (well managed clubs with little or no debt) is that debt is limited to a certain amount and those who wish to spend big must not saddle the club with the proposed debt. This must go into equity within the club therefore securing the club for the future.

Those that cannot abide by the rules should not be sanctioned by fines as this only compounds the problem, but should be sanctioned on player acquisitions until the debt is brought in-line.

It will still have it's flaws but at least it would still allow the league to prosper in the global market, instead of the few who have already cornered it.

Re: Talkrubbish

Best way to make the competition fairer could be to share out champions league money amongst all teams. As it is, once you've made it you get the funds to ensure you'll make it year after year.

A bigger distribution of domestic TV money should go to the lower league teams.

Surprisingly Mr Gill doesn't seem to keen on that idea.

Re: Rags want a Premier League FFP!!!

Scudamore and co don't want it because he wants rich owners investing in the Premier League.

City are a big part of why the PL TV money is going up 70% next year.

Owners like The Glazers and FSG at Liverpool just want to make loads of money without having to speculate. That's what FFP is to the big revenue clubs. United don't like the fact they're having to spend money to keep up with City. The Glazer's don't want to keep needing to spend £25m on the likes of Van Persie to stop City getting them. Arsenal just want to be run as a profitable business.
