Shooting off at a tangent here (for which, apologies), but how relevant to the ordinary Joe is "xg"? Most of us are fortunate enough to have eyes, we can see how decent (or not) chances are.

It makes Liverpool fans feel better about Nunez, as they don't realise his high xG figure v shit GS means he's a cockeyed **** missing loads of sitters. I get to laugh. It's a great stat.
