Why has the referee blew for a free kick for Watford when the Watford striker was about to shoot!?

Was just about to post something very similar. I can't recall hearing about this happening that often down the years but I think this is at least the third occasion this season

I would suggest that people having heart attacks at games is not a modern phenomenon. I've seen it at City in the past.

The difference now is that there has been a decision taken to halt the match.

Whether that is an official decision or just determined by whether the person affected is relatively close to the pitch and within the sight of the referee/players, I don't know.
 
Well if you're not in hospital, the next best place to have a medical problem is a football ground.

Hope the fan is okay.
