Is it me or is the term "ball playing centre half" slightly misplaced when it comes to Van Dijk? He's comfortable on the ball but I never see him breaking the lines with a clever forward pass like Laporte and Stones do.

Yep they can't maintain that level over a season, especially with the extra pressure heaped on the club with their new signings.

They desperately want Liverpool to be on the same footing as us in every way so they’ll tacitly associate any positive term with whichever player possesses even the most modest of skills in line with the description.

Could be a tricky game this would much rather another team had faced them first to see what we are up against but our manager aint half bad at adjusting tactics on the fly I suppose.

I get peoples reluctance to acknowledge them as a threat because its only human nature and a part of being fan of an opposing team......they will be there or there about this season. they will fear us as much and what they need to show is the consistency but if they avoid injuries to key players (Mane, Salah and Keita plus the goalkeeper - who wasn't tested today but we know the back ups are really poor) I think they will be. areal challenge.
