I’d be extremely surprised to see Pep lineup with something like that. Right footer at left back and a left footer at right cb, the passing lines would be a mess

I don’t think Peps priority at this point is about passing 100%, but to be able to defend. That line-up is definitely the obvious one if we want to keep it stable in defence. Otamendi, Stones or Garcia over Aké at rightsided CB just because they pass better with their right foot? No, that’s be a stupid choice.

Cancelo has shown he’s more than capable of playing on the left, and he gives more stability than Mendy.

So far, 5 out of 7 games have been won by the away team (and likely to be 6 out of 8 come full time at Brighton). Only Palace and the scousers bagged home wins. Empty stadia a contributory factor?

We had 3 shots on target all night and were down to 10 men from the 12th minute, so I’m not sure we were creating all that much, to be fair.

We created enough to kill them of but didn't. They weren't that good. The push for their equaliser shouldn't of counted regardless of how any one thought how badly Mendy did deal with it.
