Premier League Games 13/14/15/18 May '23

Still one of the strongest squads. If we made a team out of our non-starting squad players and had it join the Premier League, it would probably still finish top 4.

Highly doubt that.

We’ve only really got 16 outfield players he trusts and then you’re into Palmer, Gomez and Phillips.

I can't remember if it was covered at the time in this thread but I do think the commentary below is disgraceful. Brighton go 1-0 up at the Emirates, a chance to get European football for the first time in their 122 year history and barely any emotion. Peter Drury would never.

Yeah I reckon this is top 6 at best:

Ortega

Lewis------Akanji------Laporte------Gomez

Phillips
Perrone------------Foden
Mahrez---------------------------Palmer
Alvarez
Foden, Mahrez and Alvarez are still dangerous as fuck, and Akanji, Laporte and Phillips would be a fairly solid base, but we'd have nowhere near the control we're used to.

I, for one, would like them to draw.

If Arsenal win, we'll have the pressure of needing a win to lift the trophy at home on Sunday.

If Forest win, then we win the league off the pitch. We didn't even get to play for it. And we don't even have to turn up on Sunday. That's boring.

If they draw, however, we only need a draw on Sunday. That means that we do have to turn up, which will be good for entertainment (and for Erling-40-goals bets), while still being pretty confident we're going to lift it on Sunday. Perfect!
(Plus it gives Forest an important point to send Everton down)
Sorry but is it fuck boring I'm on bp tablets and statins I would love us to win it as soon as possible , I can't keep doing this last day coming from behind nonsense it's not doing my health any good :-)

Compare that sour faced twats comms to the comms on our first goal from gundog yesterday, chalk and cheese.

It's so embarrassing and the rat faced nobhead with him let his mask slip again, he was suicidal when the 2nd and 3rd went in.

And that’s assuming nobody ever gets injured and everyone plays every game. But I appreciate the guy was making a point and it wasn’t a serious suggestion.

We have actually been pretty lucky with injuries. Not all luck though. A lot of it is good management. But I can’t really think of a time this season when we’ve had more than a couple of players out injured at the same time. May be wrong.

But if we were to have say four injuries at the same time, which isn’t particularly unusual, we’d be down to pretty much a bench of kids.

Well yeah, good management is exactly right. How many times has he taken Haaland of to save him for the next game? It obviously helps if you're winning comfortably a lot. I still think an injury to Rodri is the one that would be the biggest problem. But the other great thing about Pep is his ability to find solutions when we don't have the players. He went two years without a fit striker and still won (well, Jesus was here, to be fair). He's gone most seasons without a proper left back and always found a solution, in some cases completely reinventing the role to fit a player in.

Pep is quite good at dealing with long-term injuries. Our bigger problem has usually been in dealing with one-off injuries, like having to play Fernandinho as a CB last minute, or Walker getting injured against Real Madrid last year.
