Premier League Games 14/15/16/17 July

Somewhat prisoner of the moment kind of comment.

Best days gone/crap: Kepa, Alonso, Rudiger.
Average/in poor form: Willian, Giroud, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek.
Good: Kovacic, Zouma, Pulisic.

Kovacic wil llikely be voted our player of the season, which I suppose says a lot about the strength of the squad, but he has been exceptional for lengthy periods, but he also suffers from periods of strange dips in form.

That's probably fair enough as you've seen them a bit closer than I have.

I just can't believe you guys have been allowed to become so weak. That said I forgot Kante wasn't playing. I think Ziyech and Werner are big steps in the right direction. You guys probably still need 3 or 4 more.

Big week for top 4 hopes of Chelsea / United / Leicester.

Leicester have a brutal run-in, but beat Sheff Utd tomorrow at 6pm and maybe they can get in the heads of United who are away to Palace at 8.15pm.
With Chelsea and United in FA Cup action, it's not inconceivable for Leicester to beat Spurs on Sunday if tails are up being 6 points clear of the rags and just ahead on GD with United having two games left of which 1 is Leicester - that might mean a scenario United have to beat them 3-0 to reduce the GD, It's plus 4 in Leicester favour atm.

Just read this. Chelsea will not beat Munich but imagine if they did win the champions league.

There is a possibility only the top three would qualify for the Champions League - if the two major European club trophies are both won by English teams who finish outside this season's top four.

Why? Because there can be a maximum of five English teams in the Champions League. So if Chelsea win the Champions League and Wolves or Manchester United win the Europa League - and neither finish in the top four, then both sides would qualify for next season's Champions League and fourth place in the Premier League would only earn a Europa League spot.

Yeah, the club allowed Hazard's brilliance to mask what really has been a sharp decline in the overall strength of the squad. Chelsea have essentially, since 2015, piggy-banked on the Hazard's back. Seldomly giving him some quality players to work with (Fabregas and Costa for 2 seasons etc). It is why I had zero issues with him wanting to leave.

With Hazard gone, it has laid bare the sort of quality we have to work with. Thankfully some of our academy players have stepped up and grown. Abraham, for example, might be having a poor time of it at the moment, but without his 14 league goals we don't even sniff the top 4.

Thankfully the club have realised this, and we look like we're taking the steps to move in the right direction again.
