Let’s face it... the “Clear and obvious error” has allowed them to fix football for a season.
I do believe though that the Premier league has damaged their reputation this season with their interpretation of VAR. Basically it’s damaged the product and the rest of Europe are laughing at them so I believe come next season we’ll have a system that looks much more like the other European leagues and subsequently less easy to fiddle.
Of course there will Still be the Utd, Liverpool privileges with decisions but by removing that daft ‘clear and obvious’ cheat code and toning down the offside decisions it will prevent them from being able to change the look of most ties. Whereas this season unless a team is clearly spanking another, they can pretty much decide the outcome with a few timely tweaks.
