Premier League Games 15/16/17/19 May '22

Like I said, you can really tell that they had nothing to play for. They're too low for Europa and too high for relegation.

They are lucky that there’s not another 5 games left or else they would be relegated.

We’ve played Southampton three times this season and all the games were competitive. They pressed and forced mistakes from us.

Tonight though they were beaten before the first whistle. There was no press what makes them a tough side. The game was practically a training exercise against the Liverpool B team.

It’s no shame losing to Liverpool, they are one of the greatest sides in English football history, but tonight’s starting 11 was average. A midfield trio of Jones, Elliot and Milner should not dominate to the extent it did.

Then again, with that tracksuit tramp in charge what do they expect? A tendency to get spanked 9-0 and not won in their last 9 league games. Managers get sacked for a lot less than that.

What did I hear Tyler say at the end,Manchester City need to beat Villa on Sunday ? So he’s another that already knows the result from klanfield this Sunday ?
I’ll be glad when this season is all over, we have the trophy and they can all get fucked
I said the exact same thing a few weeks ago. From next season onwards Sky Sports can completely go and fuck it will never be on in this house again. Even though I have IPTV I still won't put it on.

Fucking tramps.

Dipper Dean and England for Dippers and Oliver and Tierney no doubt for us. Oliver be under instructions to give them a penalty for any touch like he did v Leicester.
i hope i am wrong but i cant see PGMOL not making these appointments knowing how these officials officiate us

Maybe the team didn’t deliberately throw that game but the goalie - my word his pass stats to Liverpool players might have been the highest in the match
...and a great defensive header into the 6 yard box for their 2nd goal. Every other defender was completely static.

No excuse though to pick a weakened side when they’ve had a good rest.
No idea what that team selection was. As soon as I saw the Southampton XI I knew they would get nothing from the game. Be interesting to hear Hasenhuttl’s reasoning for it. That said, their strongest team got battered by Brentford in their last game so not sure it would’ve made much difference.

I suppose they’ve only clawed back one goal on us.
In the highly unlikely scenario where Wolves manage a draw on Sunday, we could afford to lose 5-0.

1-0 win will do, thank you very much.

Look at the difference in West Ham throwing their bodies on the line v us, defending and challenging for everything. Tonight was not a professional performance, absolute zero pride or passion for their last home game of the season. It all stems from the manager and he is so lucky he still has a job.
i have never seen such an inept, lazy, not bothered performance from an entire team. No desire to defend and just stood off players letting them cross and shoot at will.
We thumped Newcastle 5-0 but you could not fault them for effort
And we at least have tried in our games recently. Southampton just couldn't be arsed and it's not fair on the people paying to see them, it's disrespectful.

I think, judging by Everton being in a similar position in recent seasons, there comes a point where teams who have nothing to play for think 'ehhh, sod it' and do the bare minimum. The likes of Arsenal and Spurs will be fighting for a European place and we, Leeds and Burnley are fighting to stay up, but the mid-table sides can afford to just do fuck all for 90 odd minutes.

A team with nothing to play for. Playing poorly after making a few changes. Really fishy that…. Quite normal really. Watched city do the same a few times. Liverpool scrape through them kind of games, something we don’t overly do but you’d hope Sunday we are on it from the first whistle. Play to our best and we don’t need to worry about refs or Gerrard asking his players to try really hard

We just need to win on Sunday or if they draw we can draw. I was just hoping goal difference wouldn't get hammered tonight. Southampton are utterly spineless. Just got to do our job on Sunday and not completely fuck it up. If we do it's all down to ourselves!
If they draw, we can even lose less than a 4 goal margin and win on GD...
