Like I said, you can really tell that they had nothing to play for. They're too low for Europa and too high for relegation.
They are lucky that there’s not another 5 games left or else they would be relegated.
We’ve played Southampton three times this season and all the games were competitive. They pressed and forced mistakes from us.
Tonight though they were beaten before the first whistle. There was no press what makes them a tough side. The game was practically a training exercise against the Liverpool B team.
It’s no shame losing to Liverpool, they are one of the greatest sides in English football history, but tonight’s starting 11 was average. A midfield trio of Jones, Elliot and Milner should not dominate to the extent it did.
Then again, with that tracksuit tramp in charge what do they expect? A tendency to get spanked 9-0 and not won in their last 9 league games. Managers get sacked for a lot less than that.
